I think we are seeing the low point in this rebuild when you put last week and today together.

I don't believe you could find two worse matchups for us. Probably the two best defensive front sevens in college football going against our depleted/undeveloped offensive line. Add to that, playing a backup QB.

If things go poorly tonight, take a moment to understand things. That said, I agree it sucks.

If we can survive this, these last 4 games will be manageable. If we can somehow make a bowl this year, it would go a long way towards making this team very good next year

A not insignificant number of fans who don't understand things like roster attrition and poor Oline recruiting by Dooley will probably turn on CBJ after tonight.

People started turning on Dooley after he went 0-3 against UGA, UF, and Bama two years in a row, and it will happen to Jones as well.

Thankfully, ignorant fans like that are the minority, but if he doesn't make a bowl game this year, their voices will be pretty loud heading into the offseason.

Which is why if Dobbs needs to play its not worth keeping him out they NEED a bowl.

You are probably right but anyone who goes off the deep end if we lose tonight needs to get off of the ride right now.

They know the reality of it being a possible blowout but cusses the team out when it happens?

Agreed, but you'd be surprised how many supposed "diehard" fans are clueless about things like roster issues.

They don't follow recruiting and they don't know about or care about how many freshmen we are starting. They just see losses and think Butch is no better than Dooley.

Might as well get ready cause the haters are gonna have a lot of ammo for the remainder of this year. Sucks but its true. Im sure there are more of you like me that will avoid Volnation after this game, so any outsiders that come on here will be overwhelmed with the negativity (or truth as they will call it). Im gonna do my best not to judge this staff untill 2016, if they arent winning at least 9 or 10 games by then, they deserve any and all criticism they get.

Butch must somehow get to a Bowl Game, or he will be considered a failure.

This is the kind of emotional post and hyperbole that the OP seemed to be speaking against. Considered a failure by who? You? What makes you the official arbiter of college football coaching success?....Butch Jones' tenure isn't going to be judged by this team. He has earned the chance through his work on the recruiting front to either succeed or fail with a full stable of players that he has recruited. He gets until at least 2016 to prove what he can do.

What have you seen from us in the last month to even think up things like this? I just don't understand comments like this. Yeah sure we should slaughter Mizzou. They are terrible. What a gift FLA gave them on the road? And USCe is horrible. Probably the worst team ever and how about KY- worst team they have had in years. Get a clue man. We will have to play like gangbusters to win 2 of those games. "Manageable"? Give me a break.

The schemes that CBJ & Company are using on offense are way out of date. They do not work in the SEC. Think about it...Butch came to Neyland with Cincinnati with those same offensive schemes and Dooley beat his brains out!!!!

Considering we are tied for 1st in the nation with number of top-5 opponents played this season so far, I'm not mad at Butch.

Losing to the top 10 ranked teams this year is "acceptable" as he rebuilds. Losing to a pitiful Florida team two years in a row and being out coached by Muschamp - not so much. Losing to UGA, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, and quite possibly Bama with this team is never ok but truly understandable this year - but losing again to Missouri or Kentucky is never acceptable. Coaches need to adapt to the team and find ways to win

Satan Jr changed his offensive schemes mid season to help crompton become successful and got us to a bowl game I'm still looking for some ingenious coaching by the greatest staff in the country (defense is shaping up and doing well -- offense drinks for second year in a row)
