He has UT ties right? I am only speculating, but would he make a good coach at Tennessee?

Is he still the lowest paid coach in the NFL? We could probably get him at a steal as a DC.

I'm thinking you don't know much about the enormous disparity in College coordinator pay and NFL HC pay.

Lovie Smith was the defensive backs coach at Tennessee in '93-'94. So he has ties, but I don't think he is going anywhere.

He's not even that good. At all.

He's been winning off of talent left by old coaches lately. The only decent thing he did for them was draft Forte.

First of all, I wasn't being serious. Secondly, you know he makes less than $1.5 million a year, right?

Lovie Smith???? Thats like saying why dont we go get Al Davis as an athletic director?

Except Lovie Smith is a devout Christian who donates chunks of money to impoverished children, and Al Davis just might be the devil incarnate.

After watching ESPN and all the talk about a lack of African American coaches do y'all think that UT will be pressured into at least a token interview?

Why doesn't someone just go ahead and start a Vince Lombardi thread?

He was really underpaid.

Come on, man. If the Vols could hire Lovie Smith, why in the world wouldn't they? It had nothing to do with his skin color.

you know what Chavis knocks down, besides offenses? Hell, he might very well qualify for an Obama tax cut.

I know, man, I know. I'm not going to argue because I know you're right. That, and I'm not going to get into an argument on a "Lovie Smith for HC" thread.

I didn't necessarily mean Lovie Smith for the interview and I didn't mean it would change who Hamilton is looking at. Doesn't the NFL teams have to interview a minority Coach?
