I'm about 11 minutes from Arby's. If you live near one, you should try the roast beef.

Interesting thread.

I am 15 minutes from Six Flags (never been)
I am 15 minutes from two different water parks (never been)
I am 20 minutes away from Dallas Cowboy football (booo)
I guess I could count being 30 min away from TCU (don't really care)
30 min from downtown Dallas
30 min from downtown Ft. Worth
10 min from DFW airport so I can fly places I would rather be.
Edit: also about 20 min from the Ballpark at Arlington where the Rangers play

Please realize, other than the 90 minutes from Neyland/TBA and walking outside to the Smokies, it was all sarcasm.

Well, I thought so...but, some folks from Jonesborough seem to have an unusual pride in the history of the town.

it does have a lot of history. Would have been the capital of the State of Franklin, first town established by NC after crossing the Appalachians, Andrew Jackson, while from Greene County, had a lot of ties there, David Crockett was born there. Was the supposed leader of the South for those supporting the abolitionist movement. Memphis and Nashville have quite a bit of history, but I don't see the point in debating who is the most historic. I'm a history nerd, but I don't see the point in making one place more historical than the other.

I live 25 minutes from Reelffot lake and an hour from KY Lake/LBL. Very little traffic, low crime, slow pace of life. It's home. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed living in Knoxville, but the traffic and noise got to me. And it just didn't feel like home to me.

OK,

4 minutes to Wal Mart (my wife knows, trust me)
60 minutes from down town Nashville
60 minutes to down town Chatt
Hour and a half to Huntsville
7 minutes to my office
hour and a half to Neyland
two and a half to ATL

But the Wal mart and home depot are the most important according to my wife
