I've read the practice reports everyday and they say Gmac looks good and accurate. Now, he's not?

If Gmac truly isn't separating himself, we better hope Faizon is the second coming of Lamar Jackson. Otherwise, it's going to be a very long season.

Price and Hobbs said GMac hasn't separated him self and that it's pretty even.
I think by fall camp unless GMac just kills it, CJH will start Faizon. No point in starting GMac who's been in the system a year longer if he can't pull away from a freshman.
Neither have real CFB playing time so I expect us to be real run heavy. May as well roll with Faizon and have him be that much better next season

I have been of the opinion G-Mac would seperate enough to get the nod this next season. And he may still indeed separate himself. But if he doesn’t I wouldn’t blame Heupel for going with Brandon. Faizon is not only an early graduate he is young for his grade. With all that said he looks like a natural fluid player that doesn’t seem daunted at all. But I am pulling for both to keep working and keep progressing. GBO

I dont think it matters right now which one wins the job. Its going to be tough year upcoming. I think both can be good in time but dont expect either to be able to come right in and run the offense as efficiently as Aguilar did last year. Aguilar wasn't perfect, but throwing for 3500 yards and the offense averaging 40 a game will be hard to top for a QB with no experience.

All that matters to me is what they look like on the field against a good opposing team... poise, offensive command, execution, etc. Everything else is just fodder at this point. Honestly, I hope CJH lets them both play.

Big difference between them being neck & neck in routes on air and controlled scrimmages and neck & neck in a real game. GMac is more familiar with the playbook and action under fire in this system. In the season, a lot more depends on what goes on between the ears.

G-Mac has very very little experience "under fire" in games. I'm unsure how many snaps he's taken but it is not very many.

His experience with the playbook will only really start to show up in the Fall as most of Spring is foundational work.

He and Faizon have passed the "do they have gifts" test as we've heard they "just have more zip on their passes" than Staub from almost the beginning of camp.

Heupel said from the start of camp that he'll not name a QB1 from Spring practice and my guess is that any "leaks" or "what we've seen" from the press about practice will not give away a QB1 either. It'll be a competition, at least to those of us outside the building, until Heupel wants it to not be a competition anymore.

For all we know, it's obvious to the locker room who QB1 will be now. If we've learned anything about Coach Heupel over the past years, he doesn't like a leaky locker room or leaky reporters and I don't expect that to change.

It’s more so his performance in the scrimmages but he balled out in The Orange and White game in 2025.

Long way to go

If they are neck and neck coming out of spring, Brandon will likely win the job. He will take what he has learned this spring and apply at this off-season to improve more than George will. Then I would expect him to pull ahead in the fall. Faizon just has so much physical ability. If he gets the mental side down quickly, he could be one of those special freshmen who are instant stars like Trevor Lawrence was.

So some have got to the 5th step, 1-denial-2-anger-3-bargaining-4-depression-5-acceptance or we could be in step 3 bargaining.
Its a process
