Looks like Currie made his first move

This is the best comment you have made so far. Grew up playing with Chris and he deserves the job. He has the fire and is fiercely competitive. You may be right with Holly but all our athletics are struggling. Chris played at UT when we were dominant across all athletics and this change is a great place to start.

in men's tennis six years ago, right? In what other sport can that claim be made? We won the national championship in doubles in 2014. You don't sack a guy who has had a good track record over 12 years or so when he had two bad years--that's BS. You also don't make him your first big sacking when 1) the baseball team has been terrible /EVERY/ year since Serrano took over (everybody likes the man, including me, but c'mon); and 2) the women's volleyball team has been bottom half of the conference for what seems like a decade; and 3) the women's basketball team is floundering under a coach who should never have gotten the job in the first place and has shown herself to be a very bad coach. Currie probably thinks he's got to keep Warlick because she had a good recruiting class last year. That would pretty naive--we've had very good talent the last two years. We have talent EVERY year--talent isn't the issue; coaching is. Baseball has long been a struggle at UT, for various reasons. But there are a LOT of basketball coaches who could make our program much better IMMEDIATELY. Keeping Warlick around is unforgivable, IMO.

My point is, if you are going to start sacking people, then start with our worst coaches and go from there. Winterbotham was nowhere near one of our worst coaches. That's why this was a lame decision by Currie. It may be that the associate AD in charge of tennis, whoever that is, wanted to give Woodruff his shot. Hey, Woodruff might be good--i hope he is. It will all hinge on recruiting.
