Gives me hope for the women's basketball and volleyball programs going forward that he will fire you without results

Since we are at the bottom of the barrel, maybe he should have started with baseball, then keep going.

Definately sets a presedence!

a STUPID, crazy first big decision by Currie. Winterbotham is a good coach in a strong conference. We were in the NCAA championship match in 2010. We've always been competitive. The last two years have not been great--but he would have got us back near the top of the conference. We have coaches who should be axed--starting with Warlick and Patrick (our volleyball coach, who can't recruit)--but Winterbotham shouldn't have been among them. You can't sack this guy and leave Warlick alone--that is bull$hit. I've already got a bad feeling that Currie doesn't know what he's doing.

This is my first thoughts too. Think this was easy to do financially wise and a sport not many care much about. Makes him look like he's really in charge and you better kiss his azz.

I would say that is an easy conclusion to draw from the outside looking in, but you probably can't see inside. I sure can't, and your comments tell me you can't either.

I realize there are things that can happen or are said outside my presence, earshot, or vision that doesn't cause me to jump to conclusions as you may be doing now.

And I am not losing my mind about it because an ex-coach with no AD experience is not the one making these decisions. I am just glad visits to Shoney's is not involved.

To be honest I didn't know who the tennis coach was but after the firing I've read posts on several boards today that said overall he was a good coach and had a top 5 recruiting class last year?

A comparison - the last 3 years tennis has been 13-14, 12-17 and 14-13. Over the last two years they have won 3 out of 24 conference games.

Warlick has not had a losing season. Her teams have finished 2nd, 1st, 2nd, 1st, 7th and 6th in the SEC. She had several big wins this year (SC, Miss ST, Notre Dame) that show she may have the team heading back up. Sorry but if you let her go - you let almost all coaches go.

I don't follow tennis so I don't know how good or bad of a coach he is - but just by records between these two Warlick would not be the one to fire.

To everyone saying fire Holly, while I wholeheartedly agree, we have to give her one more year because we have a lot coming back plus we have the number 1 recruiting class. It's a put up or get out year basically.

Recruiting and buyout costs for Tennis coach will deplete our AD funds so we won't be able to address any other coaching changeovers!

She's a decent coach at best. She was never gonna be Pat, but she's far from it, not in the ballpark.
