Are there any major hospitals near the gatlinburg or wearsvalley area(anything within 30 minutes)?

trust me though, you don't want to live in the Wear's Valley/Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area.

I think that you may need to define major hospital. Do you have need for a special, specific kind of care - or are you just looking for a decent hospital?

Fort Sanders Sevier has broken ground on a new hospital to be completed fall of 2009. Blount Memorial isn't far (Maryville). As far as tertiary care centers, your closest will be UT Hospital (Alcoa Highway) or Fort Sanders Regional (near UT campus).
