Looking thru the SEC schedule this year here is what I see......

I guess these are fun but pointless and wont be anything similar to what you guys post. There wasn't a single person who could even get the last two games of the playoff teams right last year. Everyone had Miami in and even a terrible Colorado team was at play at that point. Too much will happen. All you guys are underestimating Alabama because of a loss to a good FSU team. Remember Notre Dame lost to NIU in the opener and finished 2nd in the playoffs. Tbh they're probably the best team in the SEC.

They look improved to me from last year but to be fair, the competition hasn't been the toughest either. Clark Lea definitely has that program headed in the right direction. There are a few teams on their schedule that should be thankful that they play Vandy later in the year like Texas, LSU, and Auburn. I wouldn't pick them on the road against UT or Bama but that game isn't going to be a cake walk like it was when Lea first took over. They are a team that doesn't beat themselves based on what I have seen through 3 games. Don't be shocked if Lea gets a call from a bigger program at the conclusion of this year.
They are terrible...watch and see

They probably will beat Georgia State although they didn't last year, and Utah State will keep it close for a half

They will lose to Bama, LSU, Texas, Tennessee for sure

They likely will lose to Mizzou, have a chance of beating Auburn at home but i bet not..

UK will be their big "victory" this season

My Guess at playoffs

Conference Champs:
1. Oregon (12-1)
2. Georgia (12-1)
7. Utah (11-2)
4. Miami (12-1)
12. Tulane (12-1) over UNLV (10-2)

At-Larges:
3. Penn State (11-2)
5. Ohio State(10-2)
6. Alabama (10-2)
8. Texas (10-3)
9. Tennessee (10-2)
10. Illinois (10-2)
11. Florida State (10-2)

Just Missing Cut:
Ole Miss - 10-2
Oklahoma - 9-3
Texas A&M - 9-3
LSU - 9-3
USC - 9-3
Nebraska - 9-3
Georgia Tech - 10-3
California - 9-3
Texas Tech - 10-3
TCU - 10-2

MATCHUPS:
1st Round

(9) Tennessee at (8) Texas
Winner plays Oregon in Rose Bowl

(12) Tulane at (5) Ohio State
Winner plays Miami in Orange Bowl

(10) Illinois at (7) Utah
Winner plays Georgia in Sugar Bowl

(11) Florida St at (6) Alabama
Winner plays Penn State in Cotton Bowl

Semis
Oregon/Tennessee winner plays Miami/Ohio St winner in Fiesta Bowl

Illinois/Georgia winner plays Alabama/Penn St winner in Peach Bowl

NC
Fiesta Bowl winner vs Peach Bowl winner in Miami
Give me this, but flip Tennessee and Texas’ seed and make Texas come to Knoxville. Neyland would be bonkers.

We have to hope LSU and Texas A&M don't go 10-2 also or else we could have a serious glut..

Georgia is pretty much a lock IMO even if 10-2

Any SEC team that's 11-1 is in obviously but the 10-2 scenarios is where we get a glut like last year.

We have to at least split vs Bama and Oklahoma and win the rest...

10-2 with a loss to UGA and Bama or Oklahoma probably gets us in unless something weird happens

Texas at 10-2 is in
Alabama at 10-2 is in
Oklahoma at 10-2 is in IMO
LSU at 10-2 (which i don't think will happen) depends on who they beat
Ole Miss at 10-2 needs some help IMO unless they beat UGA and lose to LSU or Oklahoma
Texas A&M COULD go 10-2 with some upsets and hopefully would knock Texas or LSU out
Mizzou has a small chance at 10-2 but I think they are paper tiger

if a team like Texas or Oklahoma is 10-2 but loses in the SEC title game to UGA i think they still make it at 10-3

There is actually scenario where we go 10-2 and get left out if we lose to georgia and Bama but beat Florida and OU and they have mediocre seasons. For instance Florida goes 5-7 ahd OU goes 7-5 or 8-4 then our strength of schedule would suffer. If we don’t beat Bama then we need both of those teams to have decent records it doesn’t like Florida will. Also need Miss. St and Vandy to have good records.

I see this being the final standings (albeit an early guess)

Georgia - 11-1 (7-1)
Texas - 10-2 (7-1)
Tennessee - 10-2 (6-2)
Oklahoma - 10-2 (6-2)
Alabama - 10-2 (6-2)
Ole Miss - 10-2 (6-2)
LSU - 9-3 (5-3)
Texas A&M - 9-3 (5-3)
Missouri - 8-4 (4-4)
Arkansas - 7-5 (3-5)
Auburn - 6-6 (2-6)
Mississippi St - 6-6 (2-6)
Vanderbilt - 6-6 (2-6)
South Carolina - 4-8 (1-7)
Florida - 3-9 (1-7)
Kentucky - 4-8 (0-8)

If these are the final standings, interesting to see who gets the playoff nod
I still see injuries and depth being our undoing. 7-5 until we ain't.

They may not win at huge clip but they ain’t terrible. On purely neutral field power rating I’d put them above 4-5 other sec teams. SC got their qb hurt but they still hung a lot of points on what, on paper, should be a pretty good D.

I’d say their blowout win at #11 South Carolina already trumps any margin of victory against UK.

In eight days they will be 5-0 and knocking on the door of a top 15 ranking going into their game at Tuscaloosa.

Floridas defense will keep them in games.. and I doubt Lagway can continue to be as detriment to the team as he has been. I think they will be a 5-6 win team.

Georgia might. They've got us out of the way and they have Texas, Bama and Ole Miss all at home. They might lose 2, because they have to go to Auburn, but I can see them losing only 1 given 3 of those 4 are at home.
They aren’t losing to Auburn. Hate to say it, but honestly I wouldn’t be shocked if they win out. I don’t think they will play a better offense than ours. Bama might give them trouble, but I guarantee Kirby has been on his team’s a$$ since that close call against us.
