Longest Losing Streaks for Every SEC Team

So that 6 game skid was 2020, what was our record before that? 2017 only had 4 losses in a row

Some of us remember starting off 0-6 during the 1988 season. Some dude camped out on a billboard until Tennessee won a game. I think he was up there for a almost a month.

Here's a good reference I use: Tennessee Historical Scores

In 1988 TN started 0-6, which at least shares in the ”honor”.

Interestingly, that team ended up 5-6 and the next season—1989—was the start of the greatest run in modern Tennessee football history.
I drove from Orangeburg, SC to watch every one of those. Then in 89-90, I was there for all those too, including the Cotton Bowl. Pick and Webb were awesome.
Bowl was a day trip. Flew out at 4 AM, got home at midnight. The Cotton Bowl cost me only the tix ($40 each) plus lunch and a t-shirt. When we got home, my wife discovered that she had bought an Arkansas shirt. (Had frequent flyer miles)

Yeah, I had just gotten married and began to wonder if I might have to get a divorce to break the curse. Fortunately, that didn't turn out to be necessary. Still going strong almost 4 decades later.

I think they won their first game in Memphis, can’t remember if it was Tiger High or Ole Miss. I think Tiger High.

And boy did they think they were going to beat us!

One more thing about the '89 year. Did it seem to y'all that Pickens always seemed to have a pinch between his cheek and gum?

My first game were both that. I went to 89 ole miss game with my great uncle. He was a tale gunner in World War 2. He said I enjoyed my self so much he bought me a ticket to the cotton bowl. I will never forget that trip. I still have the ticket stub.

That was the year my dad got me listening to John Ward on the radio. He had introduced me to the Braves (worst team in baseball) earlier that year. So I just thought "this is sports."
Those 80s Braves were maddening. My dad loved baseball, he watched the Braves every night and it was a 3hr gripe fest. He hated Dale Murphy's stance in the batters box

Duncan Stewart was a sports radio host that camped out on that billboard.

Duncan Stewart was the one that lived on the billboard. I was friends with a guy who knew him well....When he did it he thought he'd only be up there a few days and we'd win...Boy, was he wrong. Lol

I had season tickets in those days and I remember walking on The Strip after games and folks wearing paper bags over their heads.
