We have talked about the kicker for next year but just as important did y'all realize we had (key word had) one player listed as a long snapper. Who will take Ryan West's job next year. :dunno:

The snap didn't appear to be the problem for Romo...

But yeah... snapper and holder, pretty serious stuff.

Yeah, didn't say the snap was a problem, but I'll bet Romo can give quite a speech about how important things like snapping, HOLDING and kicking are, when others don't see the importance in them.

As much as we take it for granted, a long snapper can probably sink a football team faster than just about any other position on the field.

Yea, but they are not that hard to find. Name the last SEC school to miss out on winning the SECCG because of a long snapper problem.

Yes, snapping, holdin, etc. are all very important. They can sink a team just like all the other plays during a game. I just find it a little odd we are worrying about this now. I guess there is nothing else to talk about. :ermm:

You're probably right. For some reason, you don't seem to see nearly as many bad snaps as in the past.

Don't we usually use a walk-on for LS and holding duties? The positions take practice and concentration, but not a tremendous amount of talent. We'll be fine.

BTW, Ryan West was on my flight from Tampa to Nashville after the Outback Bowl. Seemed like a nice kid.

Long snapper?

I am going to leave that alone ....

Thank you. At least he didn't say "Deep snapper..."

You are new but you will learn that people on here worry about everything. I actually brought this up originally as a fun topic but it is a real question. I noticed we had a couple of guys that had linman size but you often see smaller guys at this position too. Did Jared Hostetter get a medical red-shirt or is he even on the team?
