“We want to be the leaders of the team, the spark of the offense, so we hang our hat on being the leaders,” London said. “Every day at practice that’s what we try to do, run hard and carry over to the game.”

After Banks’ two-touchdown performance, London understands that Banks needs to stay level-headed and continue to get better.

“He came out and played well,” London said of Banks. “Many more for him. He’s going to be a good football player for Tennessee, but he’s still got to work. We can’t get big headed, stay level headed and just keep working week in and week out.”

They all have what it takes to be the leaders. I personaly love strong running game teams. It’s what football is about. Physicality.

I wish we had more leaders on the Dline and Oline (other than Trey)
We also need leaders at LB and DB, but some are still to young
Pruitts doing his best to upgrade the roster, unfortunately it will take a couple of more years to complete

I love our offense, good mix of spread and pro style and take some long shots. Absolutely hate the fast paced offenses that put your defense in a while when you go three and out.

Hope these guys hunker down and run tough!

This will pay dividends over the whole season. Fresh defense in November will be huge!

I think we might have found a leader at DB with Thompson, that kid was all over the place Saturday, and covering lights out. He's gonna be a good one I think

My hope is the under performance of the OL early in the first two games is more about missed assignments than just being out manned. The center makes the OL blocking calls and we've had to start new guys each game. Based on a couple of drives against UWV and the performance post weather delay against ETSU, once we get lined up correctly and get a hat on a hat these guys may well be serviceable. The RB's especially Jordan have missed some holes as well. Its hard to tell looking down the LOS but from the end zone view its pretty noticeable. If they can get to where on EVERY play they get a hat on a hat and hit the assigned hole hard we may have a pretty effective running game.

I think you're on to something there. Many times on the Coach Pruitt show he would talk about how good the run was, but said it would be even better if the RB's (particularly Jordan) would hit the hole instead of bouncing outside. Also if the linemen/TE's would hold a particular block longer, or block the correct person. Still good to see the RB's running hard!
