Acting like a bunch of 16 year old scorned girls when the bf dumped them with the whole Ray Allen situation.

It's so stupid...the one thing that does give the story legs is the stuff about KG never calling Ray, and saying he lost his number. Why wouldn't you call your boy at all costs during FA? It's weird, but overplayed drama.

It's not like the Celtics had tried to trade Ray the last two years.

Oh wait, they did.

How can Terry be better than Ray? Both of them are primarily scorers, and you don't expect much other than that out of them. So let's compare them as scorers:

Ray '12 = 15.1 points per 36 minutes, shooting a TS% of .607
Terry '12 = 17.1 points per 36 minutes, shooting a TS% of .540

Compare that to baseball...that difference in TS% is the same margin as the difference between a .310 hitter and a .280 hitter....now consider that in basketball these guys are "batting" 10-15 times per game, not 3-4. Shooting efficiency is paramount.

only if you aren't asking a guy to get his own shot, which Allen can't and never could. Terry can and has been asked to alot. One can break down a defense and one never has.

So what?

Isolaion players are a dime a dozen in the NBA. How many guys do what Ray can do?

For real? Maybe you didn't watch basketball during Ray's younger years, but dude could create his own shot.

BTW, creating your own shot is the most overrated attribute. Why create a little space for yourself when an open man can be found? Terry shoots .402 from 10-15', and .421 from 16-22'. That's the range where the majority of his "created" shots come from....that's a horrible %. If created shots carried more value than regular shots, this might make sense, but as it stands both an open set shot and a created shot = 2 points. This is dumb basketball on Terry's part.

Celtics fans DO NOT want Terry to shoot from that range. The opposing D does. Guess what? Terry is going to shoot from that range.

Yeah, creating your on shot usually results in an off balance shot, fade-away, or quick pull up with D around. Much rather have penetration and kick out.

The best "created" shots are offensive put backs. It's literal shot creation...you earn your team an extra shot as opposed to dribbling around in iso, using up your team's possession.
