The girl (who I think they said is new to the team) said "Dont forget App St knocked off Michigan A FEW years ago."
My dad also said that's all he has heard at work.
Good laughs. Can't wait for 12 days. Gonna be awesome.

App State is a GOOD football team. They are not SEC caliber but there are SEC teams that would be underdogs. I expect a close half-time game and expect the BIG ORANGE to put it away in the 3rd Q. Taking them lightly could be catastrophic and also result in injuries.

I expect a 55-16 type game.

They played one good team last year and one decent team last year and lost to both- in fact, the good team they played completely slaughtered them.

Not expecting much from them. There's a reason they're a home opener.

I have to ask... Is a bad Tennessee really that good for ratings?

In in no way disrespecting them as In aware they are a solid team. I was just referencing the "they beat Michigan" everyone brings up.

In what, 2007?

With the best QB they've ever had?

How have they fared against good teams since? Ask folks that one.

No offense but Appy St is a warm up game. The only reason they have a chance is that they are willing to take a beating for a big check. It won't be close. We aren't Michigan from way back when and who knows how they compare to the team that beat Michigan. They do have a great HC.

Go Vols!

Same thing we heard about Utah St and Western Kentucky. We can criticize CBJ for a number of things, but how he handles "great" G5 teams ain't one of them.

If 2007 was just a few years ago, then it's just been a few years since:

Tennessee won the SEC East.
Nick Saban coached his first game at Alabama.
Lane Kiffin coached the Raiders.
Butch Jones coached his first game at Central Michigan.
Tim Tebow won the Heisman.
"Barack Obama" was the most common Google search.
Catbone got laid.

UT wins these 3 early games in blowouts---the vols beat florida easily, 33-13! The only tough games on the schedule are UGA and Alabama---UT splits those 2, wins the east, and matches up with alabama in Atlanta!

WOW. Come on guys.

ASU was a "good" team against a incredibly weak schedule. They only played 4 teams with a winning record. Clemson blew them out. Ark State beat them by 13. The other two teams they played with a winning record are Ga Southern and Ohio.

Unless UT lays a total egg.... App St is no threat.... to stay within 20.

Appy State has a good OL and QB. Don't be worried when they keep it close for a while.

I remember listening to that Mich Appy St game as I drove thru N Calif on my way to see the VOLS play Cal in Berkeley in 2007. Was listening to a sports talk station & they were giving almost play by play commentary in the 4th qtr. Couldn't believe it! I hope history doesn't repeat itself!

This game will not be close. To think otherwise is dumb.

If you honestly think they (App St.) have a chance of winning this game, then UT has no chance of making the playoff, and you have no reason to be disappointed later in the season if they lose 3+ games because they will play far better teams than App.

33 either suggests a safety or 4 FGs for Medley. Now which are you saying lol
