Lofton On Point Some Next Year

Lofton doesnt have the speed ramar has, but i think he will work out well at the point in certain situations, maybe a high post "give and go" or a "high post screen" givin him more flexibilty to handle the offence he can kick or shoot. we wont need ramar in the game while lofton is at point, because of some of these new guys we have comin in next year or are they big guys?

this happens within the course of the offense anyway.

exactly but with him at the point it wont have to run its course it allows him to have the ball at the top of the floor before the defence is completely set
we don't need him with the ball at the top of the key and running the offense. He pressures the D by forcing them to lean his way even when he doesn't have the ball. He'll be far more effective when Ramar is breaking down the d and kicking to him

Obviously, if Lofton was not able to run the point effectively, Pearl would not put Lofton in that position because it would likely hurt his draft status. I think he can do it anyways. He made a lot of really nice passes this year and his ballhandling has greatly improved. Oh, and Lofton was the most affective player driving the ball this year, but Ramar will be next year. Lofton had a much longer offseason under Pearl than Ramar did, so Ramar's athleticism will put him over the top as our go to slasher.
