Somebody from the Cato Institute disliked a book that gives a bit of a scathing review of the use of disasters to promote free markets and aggressive capitalism? Surely you jest.

Someone on the left writes a scathing critique of capitalism? Surely you jest.

Clearly you see where we are - neither opponents nor proponents are exactly what we'd call objective sources are they? I merely added the commentary to show a different side - a quick Google search shows no shortage of critiques of Ms. Kleins work including the Economist - a respected but hardly right wing pub.

I would argue that Ms. Klein's premise that crises are tools to implement ultra-capitalistic policies can be easily countered by looking at implementation of socialistic policies that also accompany crises.

I'm not attacking, just trying to show another perspective.

I'm not attacking either, but if we're going to call her out for being left then someone should at least point out that the source you provided us with is reviewed by a person involved in an institution that literally has the exact opposite goal in life. Not to mention that there are just as many positive reviews of her book. But, the term objective observer is never going to be seen when a journalist publishes a political piece, be it from either side of the fence. As for your implementation argument, the person you were quoting earlier before the review made the same point. The book offers a point of view, and we can certainly learn something from it regardless of its political rhetoric.

I did not call her out for being left when I posted the counter view. I only noted that when you made your claim about the Cato author.

I personally don't believe either author.
