If you like at our basketball team and look at what everyone else in the country is losing, we should at least be in the Final Four next year. We have all the pieces:

J.P. Prince
Tyler Smith
Cameron Tatum
Brian Williams
Ryan Childress
Jordan Howell
Chris Lofton
Jajuan Smith
Ramar Smith
Wayne Chism
Duke Crews
Josh Tabb

We should be able to go 12 deep. :dance2:  :dance2:  :dance2:

I have no idea why everyone seems to think the NCAA is going to grant Tyler Smith's request for a hardship exemption to the mandatory one year waiting period on participation at a new school.

Not trying to be smart, but do you not think his dad having cancer warrants an exemption?

Hasn't worked for Brandon Warren yet.

Warren also didn't finish his freshman year at FSU but Smith finished the sem. at Iowa. The NCAA has given hardships to players. The running back at Ga. Tech started out at Oklahoma but his mom go sick with something so he got his hardship and back at Ga. tech

Yea, but the way they grant exemptions is about as consistent as NASCAR is with the cautions.

The 2 situations are completely different:

1. Smith finished the semester. Warren bolted during the semester.
2. Smith was granted a release. Warren wasn't granted a release.
3. Iowa had a coaching change. FSU didn't have a coaching change.
4. Smith's dad is far worse now than when he left for Iowa. Warren's mom is better now.
5. Smith's dad moved closer to Knox than when he left for Iowa. Warren's mom is still in Alcoa.

Tyler Smith should be granted a release and has a good a chance as any, but this is the NCAA we are talking about so who knows.

I think you are talking about Choice at GT. I think his mom had something wrong with her foot. That is way less than Billy Smith have cancer(lung maybe?).

I can guarantee the 'AA will give absolutely no weight to point number 3.

See post #2 hat. I said this is the NCAA so nobody knows. It should be a factor, but, as you said, it won't.

All this would be moot if the NCAA would simply scrap the asinine rule that forces a player to sit out a year after a transfer.

I can understand it somewhat, but, for the most part, yeah, it is completely unnecessary. The NCAA doesn't care about the kids anymore anyways. Well, when did they care in the first place?

The rule requiring a player to sit out a year after transferring is just one of many NCAA mandates that benefit the institutions at the expense of the student athlete.
