QB Jonathan Crompton 6-3/205 4.8 40 Waynesville, NC - Crompton, who has over 15 scholarship offers, completed 114 of 220 passes this past season for 1,650 yards and 15 scores. He threw just five interceptions. Jonathan has scholarship offers from Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina, Duke, NC State, Wake Forest, Clemson, Virginia Tech, Nebraska, and Arizona State. It is well known that Tennessee is holding a strong lead for Crompton at this point in time. Jonathan says that he will wait a while to make his decision and it is being rumored that he is waiting on a possible documentary of his recruitment. His is being widely regarded as the #1 QB in this year's recruiting class.

RB Toney Baker 5-11/215 4.45 40 Jamestown, NC - Many are calling him the best running back in next year's class. UT is looking good so far with him and Baker has expressed interest in the past about the positives of playing college ball with Jonathan Crompton.

OLB Luther Brown II 6-1/227 4.57 40 Lakewood, CA - This kid is a stud linebacker and will definately be in the top 5 nationally and Rival 100 member. Right now the presumed teams to beat are Miami and Southern California, but it is still early. Keep an eye on this kid!

OT Dan Doering 6-6/280 5.0 40 Barrington, IL - Fulmer would love to get the signature of this big time lineman and look for UT to be hot on this kids trail all the way up till signing day of next year. He's being recruited very well as of now and he has said good things about UT.

TE Dajleon Farr 6-6/235 4.5 40 Galena Park, TX - This kid will definately be top 5 in the nation at the TE position if not #1. He's really good and UT is recruiting him hard. Unfortunately LSU is considered to have a good lead at this point in time. Let's hope that UT can atleast get him to visit.

WR/TE Malcolm Kelly 6-4/200 4.5 40 Longview, TX - Here's another guy UT is going after really hard. He will be top 5 nationally at the WR position most likely and UT is looking pretty good so far according to statements from Kelly.

ILB/OLB Derek Nicholson 6-2/228 4.55 40 Winston Salem, NC - It seems that linebacker is a point of strong interest for UT coaches next year and Nicholson is another huge linebacker prospect from border state North Carolina. Derek is a great prospect and UT wants him bad, but right now in-state schools UNC and NC State along with FSU are considered his leaders. UT is in there, but not as thick as the other three. I would actually be surprised if he chose anywhere other than Florida State because that is where his older brother is playing.

OT/DT Michael Oher 6-5/330 4.9 40 Memphis, TN - Ohr is a great in-state prospect that UT just now offered. He is obviously a big guy and he has received high marks from the coaches. His early leaders are assumed by his high school coach to be Ole Miss and Tennessee. He is a key recruit because UT needs to snag as much top in-state talent as possible.

OLB/TE Ryan Reynolds 6-2/220 4.6 40 Las Vegas, NV - Considered as one of the top linebackers in the nation, Ryan Reynolds will be sought after by every major program in the country. This is no different for UT. Keeping with the trend of going after big time linebackers, UT would really like to land this kid. Oklahoma, however, is considered to be his early leader. I do emphasize early because, at this stage in the game, things change quickly.

OT Chris Scott 6-5/300 5.1 40 Lovejoy, GA - Many are considering this stud O-Lineman the top prospect coming out of Georgia this upcoming recruiting season. College coaches are drooling over this kid, and for good reason. Tennessee is in the hunt for him, but his early leaders are Florida State and Michigan with Florida State probably holding a slight edge over the Wolverines.

DE/DT Ekom Udofia 6-3/270 4.9 40 Scottsdale, AZ - I can't tell you all how big of a pickup this kid would be. Ekom is going to make some program very happy one of these days. He is a great prospect and is everything that college coaches look for in big time defensive ends. He claims no leaders right now, but many are assuming that Stanford (his brother is a freshman on their football team) and Southern California are his favorites. Academics are a big factor for Udofia as well, so this plays to the advantage of Stanford.

ATH/WR Derrick Williams 6-1/187 4.3 40 Greenbelt, MD - What can you say about Derrick Williams that hasn't already been said a thousand times? The kid is flatout amazing. He's just a great athlete that excels at any position he is put at. Many schools are in the running for Williams and Tennessee has a good shot as well. Derrick's high school coach is good friends with Larry Slade, so this bodes well for UT. He has also attended football camps at UT when Chris Leak was being recruited and he received high marks as a defensive back. Most are recruiting him as a wide receiver in college, however. Another positive to note for UT is that Derrick's older brother Dominique was recruited hard by UT a few years ago, but he eventually chose Mack Brown and North Carolina. Well, Dominique has told Derrick that if there is one thing that he has regretted, it is that he wish he would have chosen UT.

OLB/WR Travis Beckum 6-5/220 4.5 (electronic)/4.3 (handheld) 40 Oak Creek,WI - two year starter for powerhouse Oak Creek High School in Wisconsin. While being hampered by a nagging hamstring injury after the 3rd game of the season, Beckum still managed to record 98 tackles. These are impressive numbers considering that Beckum missed one whole game because of injury and only played the first half in six others because of blowouts. He is widely considered the best player in Wisconsin. Beckum was a Wisconsin all-state honoree as a linebacker in 2003. He has made several pre-season all-American teams and is considered among the top 100 recruits in the country heading into the 2004 season by, at least one, recruiting publication. It's going to be hard for me to see UT landing this kid. He wants to get out of Wisconsin, but he didn't really list UT among his favorites. It's still early though.

OT/DT Jamarcus Grant 6-5/315 5.06 40 Mullins, SC - considered South Carolina's top O-Line prospect and definately headed for a 4 star rating. Grant plans to camp at UT, Clemson, and South Carolina this summer. On defense Grant had 42 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, and 5 sacks at DT.

CB/RB Victor "Macho" Harris 6-0/185 4.45 40 Highland Springs,VA - one of 23 juniors named to the Rivals.com junior All-American team and is one of the nations best. Harris, who runs a 4.45-forty, was named first-team all-state as a junior. He rushed for 2,210 yards and 33 touchdowns on 185 carries. At cornerback, Harris picked off eight passes and had 45 tackles. Harris has not named any early leaders in his recruiting process. Harris will be a 4 star prospect. He could be the No. 1 prospect in the state of Virginia this fall, and is already a consensus top five selection in that state.

WR Nick Kyles 6-2/182 4.55 40 Milledgeville, GA - Named to the AAA all-state squad and also first team all-region and team MVP as a junior. Considered by many to be one of, if not THE, best WR in the state of Georgia for the class of 05'. He carries a 3.0 GPA, and has already taken the ACT, although he hasn't received his score just yet. The young receiver has no intentions of committing early saying he wants to wait and make sure he makes the right choice. In his junior year, Kyles caught 52 passes for 1,054 yards and 10 touchdowns. On defense he picked off five passes and returned one of those for a touchdown. Of course UGA is going to be near impossible to beat here.

OLB Brandon Logan 6-1/195 4.5 40 Lexington, KY - Recorded 82 tackles, seven tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and one sack as a sophomore for one of the Bluegrass State's top programs. Attended the Michigan camp the summer before his sophomore year and won the "Smokehouse Award" for fastest 40 time by a linebacker. He suffered an elbow injury as a junior, one that hindered him for much of the year, but still managed to record 58 tackles, three forced fumbles and a sack. Michigan will be tough to beat here.

OG/DT Malcolm Rawls 6-4/303 5.25 40 Memphis, TN - Earned All-Metro honors from the Memphis Commercial Appeal as a junior. Not only is Malcolm a great athlete, but he’s also a dynamo in the classroom, where he maintains a weighted 4.6 GPA in honors engineering and has already tallied a 31 on the ACT.
Rawls has already drawn four major scholarship offers – Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi State and Memphis. He's one of the best in Tennessee and the Vols would love to have him. As you can tell by his GPA, academics are a really big deal to Malcolm. He has no public leaders at this point in time.

WR Patrick Turner 6-5/210 4.55 40 Nashville, TN - A two-year starter, Turner earned all-state honors as a sophomore and junior. As a junior, Turner caught 56 passes for 955 yards and 12 touchdowns in leading the Cougars to an 8-3 record. He hauled in 56 receptions for 1,033 yards and 14 scores as a sophomore. Turner accomplished the majority of his junior season stats while being double and triple teamed. Turner's coach anticipates Florida, Miami, Tennessee, LSU and Alabama to be the top schools on his early list. Tennessee and Miami will be two of the camps that he will attend this summer. Turner is also solid in the classroom, sporting a 2.5 GPA. He is expected to be an easy qualifier.

DE/TE Everette Brown 6-4/235 4.6 40 Wilson, NC - Brown had 106 tackles and seven sacks as a junior on defense and 24 catches for 400 yards as a tight end on offense. He plays middle linebacker and tight end for his high school team, but most colleges are recruiting him on the defensive side of the ball. His early list of favorites includes Duke, Tennessee, Georgia, Miami, and UNC. Although Brown has only officially received offers from Duke and Tennessee, he is getting plenty of mail from all of his favorites plus schools such as Nebraska, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, Maryland, Penn State and North Carolina State. He grew up a UNC fan, but he says that he has no leaders at this point.

ATH C.J. Byrd 6-3/185 4.55 40 North Augusta, SC - Byrd was an all-area and all-conference selection as a junior. The 6-foot-3, 184-pound Byrd caught 37 passes for 536 yards and two touchdowns, along with returning two kickoffs for 100-yard touchdowns this past season. He also led North Augusta’s defense with 92 tackles. Byrd is one of two South Carolina players being considered by ESPN's Tom Lemming for next year's US Army All-America Bowl game. Byrd has offers from Tennessee, LSU, Georgia, Virginia Tech, Auburn, South Carolina, Clemson, Maryland, Vanderbilt, Ole Miss and Illinois.

TE Jeff Cottam 6-7/255 4.8 40 Germantown, TN - Cottam was a member of Germantown's Class 5A state championship team as a junior. His brother, Brad, signed with the University of Tennessee in 2003. Last season Jeff caught 14 passes for 160 yards and four touchdowns from his tight-end spot, which isn't bad considering that his high school team runs a wishbone offense and doesn't pass often. Cottam says that he is only interested in playing TE in college and any mention of changing to another position would only hurt a school's chances with him. Many think that Tennessee has the inside edge for Jeff because of his older brother Brad already plays football for the Vols, but according to Jeff this may actually hurt UT chances. He wants playing time right away and if he comes to UT, Brad will only be a redshirt sophomore. He is still strongly considering UT though.

ATH Todd Cox 6-2/195 4.45 40 Memphis, TN - Was named to the Memphis Commercial Appeal's All-Metro team as a junior. Is also an all-state baseball player. Some are recruiting him to play running back and others, like USC, want him for outside linebacker, but for him “it doesn’t matter” which position he plays in college. Distance from his home in Memphis is not an issue. Weather could play somewhat of a factor, but he is not eliminating any schools nor does he have a clear favorite right now. His likely official visits as of now are USC, Tennessee, LSU, Arkansas, and Miami. He will be going to team camps at Tennessee, Ole Miss, Arkansas and Memphis. Also, he has plans to attend the NIKE Football Training Camp in Baton Rouge, La. on May 2. He has offers from UNC, USC, LSU, Auburn, and Tennessee.

WR Mohamed Massaquoi 6-2/181 4.5 40 Charlotte, NC - Mohamed has been spectacular over the last two years. Last year alone, he had 87 receptions for over 1500 yards and 23 touchdowns. With his success, it is no surprise that he already has received official offers from UNC, Duke, NCSU, Maryland, Michigan, Tennessee, and Virginia. Massaquoi claims to have no favorites at this point in time, but the Florida Gators have a star QB that goes by the name of Chris Leak who used to have the luxury of tossing the football to this gifted young WR. It is being said that Leak is trying to convince Mohamed to head to Gainesville so they can once again play football together. Factors affecting his recruitment include location, success of the team, and playing time.

S Kenneth Phillips 6-2/195 4.43 40 Miami, FL - Was a Class 6A All-State selection as a junior, helping Carol City to the 6A title. Phillips is expected to be very highly ranked by national recruiting services. He had seven interceptions last season and had three as a sophomore. He returned two of his interceptions this past season for touchdowns, including a 100-yard return. He vertical jumped 37 inches at a combine at Carol City last year. So far he lists two early offers: from Tennessee and Rutgers. Don't expect Tennessee to get too far with this kid. He won't make it out of the state of Florida. My early guess is Miami.

RB Tony Wright 5-10/185 4.45 40 Fort Valley, GA - An all-state, all-region and all-county selection as a junior for Class 3A runner up. He has a 270 pound bench press and 390 pound squat. Wright put up ridiculous stats as a junior carrying the ball 267 times for 2,155 yards and 20 touchdowns. In the beginning Wright stated that if UGA offered, he would probably go ahead and commit, but then he got the scholly offer from Tennessee. Now Tony is thinking a little harder about it. However, if UGA does offer, which they probably will, I would assume that Wright would choose the Bulldogs. He said that he planned to attend camps at Florida and Georgia as well as the Nike camp at Georgia Tech in May.

WR Eric Huggins 6-3/186 4.5 40 Conway, SC - Earned all-conference and all-region honors as a junior. Last season Huggins racked up 51 catches for 932 yards and 14 touchdowns. Huggins will be a 4 star player with an outside shot at landing that 5th star. He is highly regarded as the best player coming out of South Carolina this year and Tennessee is just one of many schools that are heavily recruiting him. UT has made Huggins' early list of top 5 favorites along with Oklahoma, Clemson, Auburn, and Michigan. However, Oklahoma is considered the clear leader right now for Huggins because he has declared several times that the Sooners are his dream team. We'll see how it all plays out. He has already unofficially visited Tennessee for a spring practice and he will probably officially visit in the fall.

Awsome post orangetd. Thanks for the great info.

Crompton is obvioulsy the "gem" of next years class. We really need to get him here. It has to be a good sign that he has attended all of our scrimmages in person this spring.

Wow, Orangetd!!!!! What a breath of fresh air a post like this brings during the dull, in between seasons, dog days of high profile Vol athletics. How in the world did you ever come across info of this nature at such an early date?????

Keep it up regardlss of your sources. That will keep my fires of interest in the forum burning while eagerly waiting to hear that spine tingling, brilliant sentence bestowed upon us by John Ward: "IT'S FOOTBALL TIME IN TENNESSEE!"

You know, I wish UT's AD would convince Ward to appear in the press box at Neyland Stadium for the first home game of each football season and thrill us all by barking out those words. Being a bit superstitious, I can't help but believe that Ward's doing so would cast a spell of luck on the Vols for the rest of the season.

I do miss John Ward so very much...

I do miss John Ward so very much...

I e-mailed Mike Griffith once and asked him why John Ward couldn't be invited back to at least call Homecoming games. He wrote me back and wanted to know WHY?? Sometimes I think ole Griff is a Bammer in disguise.

As requested...

WDE/OLB Spencer Adkins 6-0/225 4.48 40 Naples, FL - Adkins earned first-team Class 5A all-state honors as a junior. He bench presses 350 pounds, squats 500 pounds and power cleans 315 pounds. He boasts a vertical jump of 40 inches. As a junior, he had 60 total tackles, 15 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, 16 quarterback pressures and three pass breakups. Hard to see Tennessee pulling Adkins out of Florida, but you never know.

WR Josh Briscoe 6-3/170 4.4 40 Lawndale, NC - Earned all-state honors as a junior. After having 44 receptions for 724 yards and 7 touchdowns his junior year, Briscoe is looking to make his decision before his senior year. As a sophomore, Briscoe was one of the state’s most productive WR’s- hauling in 43 passes for 1,139 yards and 19 touchdowns en route to all-conference honors. It was rumored at one time that Briscoe had UT at #1 on his list because of Jonathan Crompton, but the new rumor is that Briscoe is a little irritated with UT because he doesn't feel like the coaching staff offered him quickly enough. Hard to understand this logic since UT did offer him in April, but some kids are a little goofy about this kind of thing. Word is that he is favoring UGA right now. Hopefully UT can get back in the thick of things for Briscoe. However, it is also being rumored that UT is higher on a couple of other receivers such as Patrick Turner and Mohamed Massaquoi.

DT Todd Denlinger 6-3/280 4.85 40 Troy, OH - Earned all-area, all-leauge and all-district honors as a junior. He can bench press 340 pounds and can squat 450 pounds. Denlinger is also an excellent student, carrying a 3.65 grade-point average. He currently ranks Ohio State as his favorite school, but also lists Tennessee, Boston College, Iowa, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, Texas and Wisconsin. Some are saying that Denlinger is only listing other schools just to keep the recruitment publicity going and he is all but a lock to Ohio State. He does say that he will definitely visit Tennessee, however.

ATH/DB Bryan Evans 6-0/175 4.4 40 Jacksonville, FL - Evans earned first-team Class 5A all-state honors and first-team all-conference honors as a junior. He bench presses 300 lbs. and squats 475. Schools in the running are Florida, Tennessee, Indiana, LSU, Maryland, Miami (FL), Michigan State, and Northwestern. Florida is considered the favorite.

CB Brandon Ghee 5-11/175 4.5 40 Fayetteville, NC - As a junior, Ghee earned all-conference honors after he recorded 50 tackles, five interceptions and seven pass breakups. He played a little wide receiver and will see an increased role in the Jack Britt offense next year. Still, he projects as a cornerback at the next level. Ghee is considered to be wide open right now as far as his recruitment is concerned.

DE Hivera Green 6-5/255 4.8 40 Conway, SC - A 6-5, 255-pounder, Hivera (pronounced like Javier – HA VEE AYR) notched five sacks as a junior. His combination of size and speed – he runs the 40-yard dash in 4.8 seconds – allowed him to make 134 tackles, a huge number for a defensive end. Green is the teammate of standout WR Eric Huggins and the two have expressed interest in playing for the same program. As everyone knows, Eric Huggins is strongly favoring Oklahoma, so we will see how this one plays out. Green has yet to be offered by Oklahoma, however, but I'm sure they will extend the invitation before too long.

DE Kyle Moore 6-7/255 4.75 40 Warner Robbins, GA - Selected all-county, all-region and all-area as a junior. In a year where talent runs deep in one of the nation’s top recruiting states it is quite an accomplishment if you are ranked No. 1. The State of Georgia is exactly that and right now the man leading the pack for the honor of the top player in the Peach State is Warner Robins (Ga.) Houston County defensive end Kyle Moore. He boasts a 310-pound bench press, has a 31-inch vertical jump, and is qualified to boot. Even though he is consistently ran away from by opposing offenses, Moore still collected 89 tackles, 21 assists, 15 sacks, numerous pressures and recovered four fumbles. Moore isn't listing a favorite as of yet, but it is hard to imagine this talented DE going anywhere but UGA. The only catch is, UGA has yet to extend an offer. Will this hurt their chances?

DT Brandon Perry 6-3/285 5.2 40 Hawkinsville, GA - Earned all-state honors as a junior and a sophomore. He has a ridiculous 365 pound bench press as well as a 535 pound squat. Perry stated that he is wide open in the recruiting process, but did name a few schools that he was interested in. Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Florida, Miami, Tennessee and Florida State are some of the schools that he's most interested in right now. Even though he states that he is open, most experts feel that UGA has the inside track because his cousin (Charles Johnson) committed to the bulldogs this past signing day. Perry was a dominant force on a defensive line that helped lead Hawkinsville to the class 1A state title in 2003. Perry collected all-region and all-state honors in the 2003 campaign. As a junior, he accumulated 102 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, 12 sacks and recovered two fumbles.

DE Barry Turner 6-3/230 4.6 40 Nashville, TN - Phillip Fulmer made a school visit earlier this week to see Turner, as did coaches from LSU, Auburn and Vanderbilt. Miami head coach Larry Coker visited on Wednesday and Virginia Tech is due in on Friday. Each of those schools mentioned have offered scholarships. Turner mentioned that he likes Tennessee, but didn't grow up a fan or anything. He says that he is wide open. As most could logically conclude, college coaches are drooling over Turner's speed. He closes in on the QB with serious quickness.

DE Doug Worthington 6-7/256 4.75 40 Athol Springs, NY - Doug also plays basketball for his school averaging 17 ppg and 14 rbg. As a junior in football he was named first team All-Western New York and second team all-state. Doug now has scholarship offers from Pittsburgh, Penn State, Tennessee, Syracuse, Boston College, Virginia Tech, Ohio State, North Carolina, Alabama, Central Florida, and Maryland. The impressive list seems to grow each week and the total has now reached 13. Doug’s dad played for Colorado but this upstate New York resident seems inclined to head south at this point. "I would eventually like to visit school like Pittsburgh, Alabama, North Carolina and Tennessee. I would like to see some schools that I have never seen before.”

What about the commit the vols already have from coker? He is a blazing fast RB from Antioch, and has some very impressive numbers. Rivals is comparing him to Lorenzo Booker. He gets a seam....Hes Gone!

Coker should be a nice addition. I heard he turned some heads at the Nike camp but I have not had a chance to watch any film of him.

RB James Davis 6-0/205 4.4 40 Atlanta, GA - Davis burst onto the scene as a sophomore when he rushed for just over 1,600 yards and had over 2,000 all purpose yards. Davis is 6-foot and 200 pounds, he runs the forty yard dash in 4.4 seconds and has a 275 pound bench press and 405 pound squat. He was named honorable mention all state in class AAAAA and was named first team All-city as a junior. He rushed for 1,692 yards and 14 touchdowns as a junior. Right now Davis says that Tennessee and Auburn lead for his services. However, this kid seems to bounce around a lot. He first said that Clemson and Alabama were his leaders. Then it went to Clemson and Tennessee. Now it is Tennessee and Auburn. Hopefully Tennessee can stay in this one.

RB Cody Glenn 6-1/220 4.44 40 Rusk, TX - As a junior, Glenn rushed for 2,006 yards and 27 touchdowns on 217 carries. Don't expect for this kid to make it out of Texas. Texas A&M is his current favorite and he is also drawing heavy interest from the Longhorns as well. He's listing Tennessee among his favorites, but I wouldn't expect him to cross the Texas state line.

LB Daryl Gresham Jr. 6-3/227 4.78 40 Roanoke, VA - Last season was Gresham's first season at linebacker after spending his sophomore year as a tight end. Gresham did not disappoint. He racked up 178 tackles, six sacks, and four forced fumbles. Gresham broke on to the scene as a national recruit a couple of weeks ago when he was one of the most impressive prospects at the Nike Camp in Charlottesville – where he was named as one of the camp's top ten performers by Student Sports. He states that he is remaining open with his recruitment right now, but many believe that the home state Virginia Cavaliers have the early edge.

CB Brandon Harrison 5-10/190 4.3 40 Dayton, OH - Brandon ran a 4.25 at the Nike Camp at Columbus and was named camp MVP. He also set a school record this spring by running a 10.5 in the 100 meters. Brandon has not broken his recruiting down to a top five list at this point. He is planning some unofficial visits this summer. One school that he feels he'll use one of his official visits on is Tennessee.

RB/OLB Rashawn Jackson 6-2/250 4.56 40 Jersey City, NJ - Jackson displayed great size, speed and power in his junior season as he rushed for around 950 yards and 26 touchdowns, and on defense had approximately 26 solo tackles and 70+ tackles total. He also tallied two interceptions. Don't expect Tennessee to get too far here.

DT/TE James McKinney 6-4/255 4.94 40 Louisville, KY - After an impressive showing in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl combine in January and another strong performance last weekend at the Nike Training Camp in Atlanta, McKinney (6-4, 255, 4.94) now boasts a list of scholarship offers that reads like a Who’s Who of college football. This kid has racked up 24 offers as of now. McKinney gave a verbal to Michigan in November, but says he’s no longer pledged to the Wolverines. McKinney recorded 90 tackles, 20 tackles for loss and eight sacks as a junior. He also had 14 receptions for 290 yards and three touchdowns on the offensive side of the ball. McKinney declined to give a top 5 at this point.

TE Anthony Moeaki 6-4/250 4.7 40 Wheaton, IL - An all-conference and all-area selection his junior year. Moeaki had 23 receptions for 405 yards and three touchdowns during his junior season. He currently has scholarship offers from Nebraska, Kansas, UCLA, Notre Dame, Purdue, Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan State, Tennessee, Iowa, Illinois, Iowa State, Wisconsin, Brigham Young, Maryland, Louisville and Oklahoma. Anthony says that he has no favorites as of now.

WR/S Mike Moore 6-2/187 4.53 40 Coconut Grove, FL - Earned second team all-state and all-county honors as a junior. Moore attended the NIKE camp in Miami where he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.53 seconds. He had a 3.97 second shuttle, managed 18 reps on the bench press and had vertical leap of 32.2 inches.
Moore was first-team All-County by both the Sun-Sentinel and Miami Herald and second-team Class 2B All-State. As a junior Moore caught 42 passes for 850 yards and 16 touchdowns. On defense, he was equally impressive where he racked up 35 tackles and six interceptions. He also returned two punts for touchdowns. Moore will probably visit Tennessee, but he won't make it out of Florida in the end. Miami will be his school of choice. I would almost guarantee it.

DE/TE Kyle Newell 6-5/230 Bethlehem, PA - Earned all-area, all-region and all-state honors as a junior. Most schools are recruiting Newell for defense, but Tennessee is recruiting him as a tight end. Newell states that he currently does not have a list of favorites.

DE J.B. Paxson 6-3/260 4.81 40 Greenwood, IN - Earned all-state honors as a junior. The 6-foot-3 and 260 pound Paxson recorded 26 sacks during his junior season, yet also intercepted four passes. He had over 100 total tackles and doubled as a tight end. This talented DE says that three of his visits will probably be Purdue, Tennessee, and Michigan. Purdue is considered to be his favorite and it would surprise me if he chose elsewhere.

OT George Robinson 6-6/330 4.9 40 Atlanta, GA - Selected all-state, all-city and all-league as a junior. The mammoth Robinson has over 30 written offers, some of which are from the likes Oklahoma, LSU, Alabama, Auburn, Arkansas, Georgia Tech, Florida, Florida State, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Clemson and Duke. Surprisingly enough, UGA hasn't offered this massive prospect yet. Makes me wonder what in the world they are thinking because this kid is the real deal and he is right in their backyard! I expect Tennessee to be in this one. Clemson is the childhood favorite of Robinson, but he claims that this won't factor into his recruitment.

WR Slick Shelley 6-4/180 4.5 40 Fort Smith, AR - Living in a military family, Slick Shelley was born in Berlin, Germany, and he has lived in Hawaii, as well. As a sophomore, he helped the Bulldogs to the Class 5A state championship. Just because Shelley lives in northwest Arkansas, that in no way means he is a lock for Arkansas. As stated earlier, he has moved around a lot. Shelley can bench-press 205 pounds twice, and he can do five reps of 375 pounds in the squat. He recently received the results from his first attempt at the ACT, which was a 16. As you can see, this could possibly be an issue, but hopefully by the time next year rolls around, maybe he'll have this score up a little more.

CB Antonio Wardlow 6-1/185 4.4 40 Winston-Salem, NC - Earned all-conference honors as a freshman, sophomore and a junior. He also received all-area recognition as a junior and a sophomore. Virginia Tech, Michigan, Tennessee, NC State, North Carolina, Wake Forest, Duke, Clemson, Syracuse and Miami are some of the main colleges showing interest. As a junior, Wardlow recorded over 50 tackles and six interceptions. He also racked up over 450 all-purpose yards on offense. Wardlow plans to attend one-day camps at Michigan, Tennessee and Virginia Tech this summer. He also plans on going to a three-day camp at North Carolina. Wardlow says that he is wide open right now and he will narrow his list down after school is out.

DT/OT Kade Weston 6-6/312 5.0 40 Red Bank, NJ - Weston was named all-shore, all-county, all-division and all-state group III as a junior. He had 114 tackles, 20 tackles for a loss, 14 sacks, and five forced fumbles as a junior. Tennessee hasn't made much noise with this kid as of yet. His current top 4 consists of Florida, Florida State, Ohio State, and Oklahoma.

RB Jerrell Wilkerson 5-8/170 4.41 40 San Antonio, TX - As a junior, the San Antonio Clark standout carried the ball 247 times for 2,201 yards (8.9 ypc) and 29 touchdowns, earning him first-team 5A all-state honors and officially putting him on the recruiting map. While his lack of size may a factor that weighs against him when evaluating his prospects for Division I football (although it hasn’t seemed to matter yet), Wilkerson’s speed and quickness more than makes up for it. Only 16 years old, he’s been consistently clocked in the low 4.4s, including an electronically timed 4.41 at the U.S. Army All-America Combine.

OT Calvin Wilson 6-6/330 5.3 40 Hattiesburg, MS - As a junior, Wilson was named to the all-area team. Calvin said his current list of leaders include LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Auburn, Tennessee, and West Virginia. Calvin plans to camp at Auburn, Tennessee, LSU, Ole Miss and Mississippi State this summer. Wilson is a good student, who should have no problems qualifying academically. He currently maintains a 2.7 GPA and has already scored an 18 on the ACT.

Just read where Crompton is going to announce his college choice on June 25th. Should be interesting but you have to think we have a good shot at this guy.

I was just reading about Oher the other evening. Whomever was doing the reporting was either in absolute awe of the kid or paid off by his family. LOL
