Second question: is he still the top-rated player of his class, nationwide?

He is #2 according to his 247 composite.

Recruiting services say he's going to be a Vol but nothing is ever a sure thing as we all know.

He's ranked by 247Sports as the No. 3 overall prospect and No. 1 offensive tackle in the 2025 class and the No. 1 senior from the state of North Carolina. He's also a five-star prospect in the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, where he's ranked the No. 2 overall player and No. 1 offensive tackle in the 2025 class and the No. 1 senior from North Carolina.

Sanders, who has received scholarship offers from at least 40 schools, picked up an early offer from Tennessee in April 2022. It was his third SEC offer at the time, and he now has visited the Vols at least eight times since he was in eighth grade.
