why.

we have allen, who is the best in the sec.

hefney, who proved hisself as a freshmen.

and plenty of experience at safety.

we will be 10 times better this year.

i agree...Allen is amazing, Hefney and Wade are gonna be really good. Our safeties are good and i believe Morely is gonna be extremely good when he comes in.

The difference with this unit could be night and day compared to last season if they improve as much as they should.

Jason Allen - All SEC
Roshaun Fellows - 1st Team Freshman All-American
Jonathan Hefney - 2nd Team Freshman All-American

Those to watch
Antwan Stewart - If he is healthy Safety is taken care of
Jonathan Wade - Looks to have turned the corner this spring
Inky Johnson - Has the tools to help in Nickle or Dime package
Corey Campbell - Off season will make or break him, is a playmaker but needs consistancy.
Demetrice Morley - Will come in a compete for playing time at all 4 positions, in your face defender who very rarely gets beat.
Adam Myers-White - Should see playing time at Safety

The Rest
Ellix Wilson - Playing catch-up after spending last year at LB, very talented.
Jarod Parrish - Not ready
Antonio Wardlow - Redshirt or Offense
Marsalous Johnson - Redshirt

Looks good... And I will say our D backs won't be top 5 in the country. They will be good, yes, but not top 5. I do think, however, with our defensive line and linebackers, the corners and safeties will look like a top-5 unit. And the SEC outside of Knoxville just graduated a lot of high-quality recievers, so this year should be fun on the defensive side of things.

Also, after last year's performance (they were freshman and injured, whatever) I would not expect anybody to rate our defensive backfield top 5.

Guess some dont have confidence in the DBs? other than Allen, a young but eager group! You cant expect anything from Allen but the best' i even question moving him back to CB? But for Hefney as a freshman' wow!........ My personal favorite Fellows............ Just doubt many will pick on him? Id love to see the UT Int record change abit. ... You all would to'. Deon Grant was it? could be wrong but know he was 1-2 away...Take aways are a good thing!

Sure the D-line is going to help the backs along but isnt that what they are suppose to do? A face full of head hunting LBs and DEs, Make QBs 'wish away' the ball........Wade dunno? got beat like a drum last yr! Depth is looking nice though.
Stewart', yea' ever breaks out gonna be sweet'.
Campbell' should be improved'''Talent

Morley? call me lost but dont know anything about him?

Inky j' show's break away speed and feet! gonna research this cat a bit' see what verticle he has? and his 40's. Could be the next Hero!? I take it all as 1 big bunch with a common goal! Looks good this yr and beyond. Firepower scores points, D's win games.....Im ready for a little of all of it! God forbid we get Auburned!

Morely took all the best WR's out of the 2005 class at the Army All-American Game and shut them down. He's 6-0 weights about 180, he has been in Knoxville for the past 3 months living with Allen and attended spring practice as an observer and attended defensive meetings. He was rated the #2 CB in the Nation and he's out of Miami, FL. He's a lockdown Corner who has a mean streak on the field and he's smart.

Just because some don't believe we won't have a Top 5 crew doesn't mean we don't have confidence in them.

It also doesn't mean that they won't end up being a top 5 crew. It's a long shot, but I think the talent is there to make it happen.. :good:

Who said they without doubt wouldn't? Some including myself don't feel as if they are nearly a Top 5 and many games last year showed that. Improvement? Of course.

But there are those that say we are bashing them or don't believe in them and thats ridiculous.
