Gonna be the worst defense in the SEC again if the DL doesn’t get significantly better. And the only way that happens, imho, is development of the younger/new players....it ain’t gonna happen with Taylor, Kongbo, Tuttle and Phillips. They’re just not SEC level players.
But my question is why? They’re highly ranked/recruited players but play like FCS level players. I was originally blaming Butch and his shenanigans but i don’t think that’s the problem, these guys are just not what they’re were ranked asSuch a shame but I think you’re right. They’ve had the opportunity.
The rankings are bogus. In the age of everybody wins a trophy, one of the reasons they all win is because of too many high school divisions. Tennessee used to have 3 classes. You lose one game, you don't go to the playoffs. Back then, there weren't that many of UT's stars that were from Tennessee. Why? Because there were not that many good players from Tennessee! I don't think that has changed. All the divisions have just watered down the competition and made more players appear to be great. But my question is why?
