Cunningham is punter. Palardy backs up both.

Kickoffs aren't finalized, but Cunningham is currently No. 1, Palardy will be No. 2 there as well.

Per Austin Ward, per Dooley.

if Lincoln makes one more mistake, I'm making "It's time to hold Dooley accountable!" thread starring back-up kicker CJ Boleman and Stephenson.

2008 UCLA he missed 3 out 4 FG, including a 30 yarder at OT. Lost the game.
2007 SEC championship game I think he missed some FG too.
and of course, 2009 Bama game. there could be more but those are the ones on top of m head.

We are talking FG's, right? Unless he had a leg transplant in the off-season, Lincoln can't get it to the 10 yard line on KO's.

amen burhead. im not surprised of lincoln winning the job due to the blocked kicks by palardy. i dont see how u go from freshman all-sec to what he did last year. I really thought Darr would beat out cunningham though. IMO, cunningham doest have a big time leg

Well can't really blame him. As bad as Lincoln is, he has outperformed Palardy in the preseason. I read somewhere that Palardy couldn't even kick it past the 5 yard line on a kickoff. I don't know the final stats either on his accuracy but I saw at one time he was 1 for 6. That is horrible.

If this is based on performance then it could be a very good sign. If Lincoln let his numerous failures motivate him into becoming a better kicker then I like this move. Of course, it could just mean the other options suck or Dooley has gone crazy.

Just as long as Cunningham is not doing the kickoffs. I don't think he kicked a ball into the endzone last year.

Just because Palardy is a 5 star guy doesn't mean he's going to be ready to play in the SEC a few months later. Choosing the starting kicker is the most objective decision a coach can make. Obviously Palardy isn't ready yet.

If he could consistently hit the 5, that wouldn't be bad on KO's with some hang time. You'd rather see touch backs but they aren't that common since the KO line was moved back.

I do wonder, however, how many times Palardy has kicked a field goal against a team when it counts

No word on who will be handling kickoffs, but my guess is Palardy has that locked up.

UT using three kickers this year. Wow. A lot of depth at the position.

Darr must be redshirting.

Makes me wonder how badly Palardy has been performing. Dang.

He could be our kickoff specialist, but until either Lincoln screws up or he starts hitting his field goals in practice, he shouldn't kick field goals for us.

I was hoping Palardy would come in and win it, but it doesn't look like he's ready. I'm looking for Lincoln to make a turnaround. He had a very solid freshman season.
