There are two simple rules of fball that CPF never got; don't go for 2 until the fourth quarter, and never yell at the kicker. I saw a lot of that this year. Hopefully Lincoln will have his head on straight next year with a new start.

Its my understanding we will have a special teams coach next year. I would think that would help at least somewhat.

Lincoln was solid in years past but I cringed every time he took the field this year. I hope the regime change can get his head on straight.

I think the UCLA game killed his confidence for the year. Missing the tying field goal in OT after some misses during the game that quite frankly Fulmer neve should have tried given the distance.

Can he get worse?:) In all seriousness, if he is not better next season, I hope we have a backup plan for another place kicker.

As a kicker you have to put that behind you and he for some reason has not been able to do that...I hate to say this but I do not think he is mentally tough enough to be the kicker but he is all we have right now...I am sure having a special teams coach will help a little but we will not know till he has to kick one that has meaning...Crap I can not wait till football season!

LOL - I love when people don't know anything.

Years past? 2008 was his sophomore year. He stunk. His freshman year, he was good, but he never kicked long FGs.

He's an awful, awful kicker.

hopefully a new kicker will be coming in...unless CLKs squad can do something with him. After the UCLA game last year, it took forever for me to get 34 out of my head!

We're in trouble if we're concerned about the kicker. When is the last time UF had a "money" kicker? Can anyone even name their kicker?

True......and I hope I don't have to use my auto insurance either but its nice to know I have good coverage if and when I need it. :)

UT has had some decent kickers...this one may be a bust, but it's not because somebody yelled at him a few times.

you're right. If we had...ummm...what's it call....oh yeah...a offense..:scare:..a kicker should be one of the last things to worry about...

Florida St. from the 90's, the Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots and Ray Finkle would disagree.

Agreed. One of the knocks I've constantly seen on Fulmer was that he clapped his players when making bad plays. The kids better be able to understand constructive criticism (aka yelling on the sidelines) during a game.

I love it when people are A holes.

Fine. In his freshman year he was 72.4%. That's not "awful, awful".

No one is doubting that he was terrible this year.

without question, he is the worst kicker we've had in recent memory...

You have my vote to be on duty to worry about the kicker. I'm far more concerned with putting the ball in the endzone.

When you beat people's brains out, making a 43 yarder at the end of the game is meaningless.

y'know... there always seems to be at least one game for each team that comes down to "thank God we had a reliable kicker that day"...

Surely you guys haven't forgotten the General's axiom about the kicking game.

I think it's very important that we have a reliable punter, kick-off man, and placekicker.
I hope Lincoln can turn it around next year....
