Pretty sure the US population that subscribe to either major party (and their cable outlet of choice) are getting totally steamrolled. For Glenn Beck you have Keith Olbermann. Nobody tells the truth. It's all hyperbole and misinformation.

I called people insulting names when I was a kid. Then I became an adult.

Then again, I know some adults who still call people names and think it's funny. Most of them are usually regarded as morons by the geneal population as well.

Oblabla is a fun way of saying that he's really good at reading a teleprompter but little else.

Calling Obama "Hussein" does work on your prejudices a little but many of us on the right are honestly afraid he would side with the Muslims if forced into a choice. He DID after all say as much and we're going to go ahead and take him at his word.

Though I have no specific historical incidents to cite, I have a feeling that Republican and Democratic politicians have been involved in enough childish behavior over the past century to safely write them both off as asses. As said, this neither surprises me not incites any real reaction. It's politicians doing what they do best.

One of the things about Beck is he throws history out there with an implicit challenge to rebut it. I don't see alot of liberals disputing his claims about the founders or the early progressive era.

Did you read Glenn Beck's Common Sense? He makes the claim that the only duties of the Federal Government that are explicit in the Constitution are to provide for trade and security through the military. Last time I checked the Constitution, I saw something about providing for the general welfare of the people.

Beck has his own vision of history which is at the same time unfalsifiable and completely false.
