thought this was a good read:

Letter From Jordan Howell
Tennessee Family,

I want to thank you for your support of the Tennessee basketball team the last four years. Your encouragement and support has made my career at Tennessee the best and most memorable time of my life. At times, I probably was hard to cheer for because of my performance on the court, but you all continued to support me through the good and the bad. Thus, I am truly grateful to my university and the fans of Tennessee.

At Tennessee, I was able to live out my life long dream of playing basketball in the SEC. As a little kid, I was a ball boy for the Auburn Tigers and I dreamed of the day when I could be on the court at that level. My dream came true when Tennessee took a chance on me. As a college athlete I learned real life lessons that I will carry with me the rest of my life. These include perseverance, courage, teamwork, hard work, along with many others.

Many of my closest friends were teammates at Tennessee. I will always have a common bond with all of them. I was fortunate enough to spend my four years playing and living with Chris Lofton. He is an inspiration to me, as I know he is to many of you. I look forward to the day that his number is hanging in the rafters at Thompson Boling Arena.

The definition of a team is a group of individuals coming together in pursuit of a common goal or task. Although my playing days are over at Tennessee, my goal has not changed. I want to see a National Championship banner hanging in the rafters of Thompson Boling, as many of you do. It’s time for me to change roles on the Tennessee team. It’s time for me to be a fan and an encouragement to my former teammates and the Tennessee basketball team. Once again, I would like to thank all of you for your support, and I want to urge you to keep it up. It really does make a difference. IT’S GREAT TO BE A TENNESSEE VOL!
Go Big Orange, Jordan Howell

I don't know what happened to his shot, but the team was best last year early in the season when his shot was on. The other team would scramble all over the court, trying to cover everybody else, and he'd bury a three. Oh well, slumps happen. Wish we could put his heart in somebody else.

What did people around here think about his singing "let's get it on" ? I wasn't around here then...

Jordan is the man. I thought he should have gotten the PG looks in the Tournament though, JP couldn't handle it that late in the season.

Look at his career shooting percentage. Apparently, that "slump" lasted four years.

Well, that slump would bring down anyone's career percentage.

Call it a hot streak to start the year, if you will. That's when TN was really dangerous.

I'd say they were pretty "dangerous" when they beat the #1 team in the country on the road. What did Howell do that night?

Just off the top of my head I know he hit 2 threes in one game late in the year, but can't remember the opponent. They were big though, helped us pull out the win. But other than that he couldn't get going AT ALL once we got into the season. It was hard to watch.

He shot 25%, 40%, and 35.1% his first three years. It's simple. He was an awful shooter.

We played MSST that night right? I was proud of him for being confident enough to put that out there. I know ALOT of non UT fans hated on his singing.
