With the recent teams we have had we could have had a bye before every game and there would have been no difference in the final results.

I just hate that it is always our 3rd game. I think if we had them later in the year it may help.

With the losing streak we got with them it couldn't hurt to give it a shot anyway. Conference realignment may actually make it a possibility too. Just my thoughts though.

I would rather they play UF towards the middle to end also. Muschamp can say what he wants, but his emotions gave away how big of a game that was for him. I watch some UF games each year and they always play their best game against UT, they are always pumped up and ready to play against an sec team. Moving them towards the middle of the season would change the mindset, I think the game would have a much calmer tone, also they would get to see UF non vanilla plays before playing them.

Why doesn't UF have a problem playing the game early in the season?

Personally I always thought it was stupid for Fulmer/Dickey to schedule the bye week right before the UF game. It's usually the 2nd or 3rd game of the season. The guys have been hitting each other since Spring and Summer, you play 2 games and then a bye?

To me the bye should always be before the Bama game because it's right in the middle of the season.

The worst was the 96 season when Fulmer/Dickey tried way to hard to set up the schedule favorably for us and we had 3 bye weeks, one before the UF game, one after the UF game and then 3 weeks after that before the Bama game. So while other teams were playing their 8th game of the year we were playing our 5th.

The last 7 years it hasn't bothered Florida when they played us. We need to stop making excuses and strap on the equipment and play the game no matter if Florida was the opening game or last. We'll have more Juniors and Sophmores next season an they and the coaching staff should have that date circled. A loss to Florida next year is unacceptable.
