to a young man who's life has just taken a big downward turn. What never ceases to amaze me is the fan reaction to something like this. Coker's life is in shambles right now and all I hear is condemnation. Trust me, he's hurting right now. Yes he is at fault, but where's our compassion? Yes it hurts the team, but that pales next to a young man's life. In no way, shape, or form do I agree with or condone his actions and I also totally believe that he needs to experience the full consequences of his actions. But that's so he finds his rock bottom and really seeks help. My heart and my prayers go out to him and his family.

You can't be surprised, Rex. What you have are a bunch of jealous nimrods who like to go into their pious "I wish I had the opportunity to get a scholarship when I was in school. I would have gone to bed at eight every night and consumed nothing but milk" rant. They act as if Coker's problems are an affront to their own mediocre lives.

it is amazing the moral high horse that some have all the sudden got on. the kid screwed up, he's accountable for it, and now it's cost him. the moral indignation that seems to come along with it is ridiculous.

I will miss his speed the most and the fact I do not like to see a Vol not doing well.

You're exactly right hat, a lot of "casting of stones" on the board right now.

I agree 100%.

It is unfortunate. Hopefully getting kicked off a football team is the worst thing that happens to him the rest of his life.

It's amazing the sense off entitlement people feel to have athletes entertain them for free.

My only wish at this point is that Hat would get caught smokin something and we could kick him out. As far as Lemarcus goes, he messed up, and he is gone. Good luck Lemarcus. Now lets move on.

The proper way to build self-esteem is not by taking satisfaction is the failings of athletes.

Coker and James Banks will have an awesome team at Carson Newman though.

The same people that are calling him an "idiot" or saying that "he blew an opportunity that any other kid would have jumped at" will be at the game tomorrow with a few coolers of Bud and some other mixed drinks in the cups.

I feel certain that Hat would purchase the best whizzinator money could buy and then blow a mouthful of smoke in the tester's face as he handed him the sample.

If the consumption of narcotics led to removal from this board, many of us would have been gone long ago. As it is, you're out of luck. Now, go play blindfolded on the interstate.

Well as long as they aren't using illegal drugs I fail to see how your analogy works.

He made a bad choice. But it was his choice and he had more chances than most people. People need to be accountable for their choices.

He has lost his priviledge to be a student athlete at the University of Tennessee. The athletic program will turn their back on him as they should.

But the university will still support him as a student as much as they can. Good luck to the young man in his future choices.
