Let's say we go 8-5

It'll mean we beat the crappy teams and lost to all the good ones. In 3 years Dooley still has no signature win, unless you have a delusional opinion of NC State or Vandy.

8-5 means a whole lot to these players and to any fans who actually want success for the program.

From an historical perspective, the Vols finished a similar 8-5 in 2002. All 5 losses were to the ranked teams on the schedule. The only difference, is that the 2002 team was preseason ranked # 2.

The Vols won 10 games each of the next 2 seasons and played in the 2004 SECCG.

No response to this post is necessary, just putting some history out there.

Bringing Dooley back would indicate that the decision makers don't have very much confidence in the football program.

That said, I'd be stunned if that's the case. No way Dooley's coming back.

He can go 8-5 or 3-9 and the result stays the same. He's leaving.

You're out of your mind. IF he goes 8-5, he's not going anywhere. Fire him for going 8-5 after everything this program has gone through and no way in hell is an established coach coming here to replace him and putting his career on the line.
