Let's play "What if"...

Ga Southern - a D-1AA team - put up 300+ yards rushing on UGA 2 years ago running the same offense. It's just tough to defend when you don't see it.

Thanks GAVOL, i dont think TVA is getting my point. NO team in the SEC runs that type of offense, so when a team like AF or GA Southern plays a team from the SEC, you will see the SEC defenses struggle, where as if a team like vanderbilt (who has about the same level of talent as AF :eek:lol: ) ran it, it would get shut down because teams in the SEC would see it every year and learn to be ready for it.

There are some younger assistants out there worth watching for development. Patrick Nix has already been mentioned. Major Applewhite is already moving up, rather quickly too. Im' sure there are others that are in this mold to be tomorrow's HC's.

That would still be awesome if we ever had John Gruden as our head coach... just because he's John Gruden would be enough.

Sure it may sound farfetched, but Saban to Alabama sounded just as crazy to me.

Well, I thought it was crazy seeing how he said "I'm not going to Alabama" like 20 times in the same press conference.

Sure, I know he couldn't go out and say he was interested in the job, but there are better ways of wording it so you don't make yourself look like a total moron.

How should he have said it? Should he have just said "no comment" the whole time and created just as much buzz from not saying anything and feeding the speculation that he was leaving?

I'm not even a Bama fan or a Saban fan, but I don't think there is any polite way of saying, "I'm leaving the Dolphins and going for the $$$ in Alabama..."

Well, I thought the way Billy D. handled the NBA situation this year was decent, way better than Saban imo.

Although, that still might not be over if he really does have an interview with the Magic tomorrow.

What did he (Donovan) say?

I don't remember any exact quotes, but something along the lines of "I'm coaching at Florida and only Florida right now isn't even the time to talk about it. It's not even relevant..." etc etc. He basically stated the only thing on his mind was Florida and winning a N.C. and there's no reason to talk about anything else.

Sure it may bring up speculation but coaching situations always will. But, I just felt Saban made himself look like the total backstabber that he is.

I think you are damned if you do and damned if you don't. Now if Donovan leaves for the NBA, the fans and critics will say that he mislead them...

Well, at that point I don't think he ever came out and said "I'm staying at Florida" until sometime after he won the national title. I believe he said it but im not 100% on that one.

Yeah, now that he's said that the fans won't take it well. But it was still up in the air when Kentucky wanted him, he didn't say for sure if he was staying or going, but didn't make himself look like a total fool.
