to make Bill Cowher the highest paid coach in the nation and try to get him here. I read a few years ago he was seriously considering the NC State job if it opened up. He wants to be close to North Carolina where his family lives and he has never said he would not consider coaching college. I say we at least try, all he can say is no.

I think he is waiting on the Carolina panthers job to open up...I would love to have him but do not think we stand a chance...just like with Gruden...No realistic chance

I think they should give the guy a call. All he can say is no, he would be great for Tennessee.

I think TN needs to make a big splash with this hire. Landing Cower would definitely qualify as a big splash. It they aren't going to get a big name, i.e. Cower, Gruden, Davis, etc. I would have rather just stuck with Fulmer.

After the blood being spilled today in knoxville i think they already have their guy.
I fear the name however.
I hope and pray it's Cowher.

exactly, there's a lot of word on the panthers job along with some of the other teams. He's just taking a few off to himself and then going to an NFL job.

We can't compete with nfl money especially when the guy's just killing time till the next team

The thing that gives me hope is some experts speculating a year or so ago he may take the NC State job. He knows he can win here and live close to home, maybe he wants to make a difference in young players lives, maybe he is burnt out on the NFL.

The call could go 1 of 2 ways, by not calling your telling yourself it's a no. If I am going to be told no I want to hear it not feel it. I say Ham and Haslam board the jet and fly to where he is and break out the checkbook and a 5 yr iron clad contract.

Could you imagine the jump on recruiting we would get if we got Cowher, it would be insane. He is a winner and we have to get a marque name coach to compete with Saban and Myer in recruiting. This team brings in entirely to much money not to go after a guy like Cowher.

It would be awesome if we got someone like Bill Cower. For some reason I'm afraid we are all getting our hopes up for a big name, but will end up with someone like Jim Grobe or something. Not that he's a bad coach. It's just that he doesn't stir up much excitement, at least for me.

If Ham does that we should ask for his job, we are not looking for a lateral move we are in need and the need calls for homerun swing not a bunt.

If Cowher came could you imagine the intimidation he would have on the refs with that scowled look not to mention the players.

Troy Aikman for coach

Cowher sux

He built the Steelers franchise and was the coach there for ever. He is a winner and a intimidating presence, type of coach that young guys want to come play for. Old fashion smash mouth, run the ball and play defense to win games. I love the idea of him coming here. I wouldn't even want Troy Aikman for OC.

Like it was said earlier, Hamilton MUST hit a home run with this hire. A fish is not a fish unless its a BIG fish and Cowher is a VERY big fish.
