Im going to tell ya, you guys on this firing coach S'"t is stupid as He$$! What good does firing a coach every two years do? A coach is only going to be a good coach once he establishes his players and his system. Do you all realize how many different systems these guys have had to learn? How do you expect them to be good when they are trying to learn then here come the Fans "oh he has to be fired now" then boom fire and hire and then its back to the same ol ********! I can tell you now Pruitt is not going anywhere for atleast two more years. They gonna let him get his players and his system in place. I know you going to Bash me i don't care. But our Fanbase is one of the Problems with this Program!

This is a LOOOOONG rebuild. Anyone who thinks otherwise is delusional. You could bring in Nick Saban, Les Miles, Lane Kiffin, Urban Meyer, Steve Spurrier and Knute Rockne, and they would not win with this team. TN plays in the SEC and has to play Bama, every year form the West, not to mention UF and UGA. And Missouri, KY, USCe, and Vandy. TN football is not for the squeamish right now. 3-5 years before the VOLS are even competitive in the SEC again. That said, if a kid wants to play ball early in the SEC with a championship coach, TN looks like a place where you can get that opportunity.

This is a rebuild and will take time and we could bring on Saban etc

But

We would still see SOME progress and the players actually looking like they are giving effort wouldn’t we?

Explain to me how we are always in the top 15 or so in recruiting and can’t beat some of these teams that are junk. That is coaching

I don't disagree with the premise but I don't think anyone expected to beat any SEC teams this season except UK and Vandy. I think Nick Saban could come in and beat Ga. State/BYU with this team. Had Pruitt beaten them we would not be having this conversation.

A lot of people here had the VOLS winning 8-9 games back in August. Those are the delusionals I was referring to. I had them going 6-6, but it obviously is worse than it looks. My team is UGA, and I will say again as I have before, I want to see TN be competitive again. It is bad for the conference when a team like TN is performing at his level. Pruitt is a guy who will bring them around eventually. But it will take considerable time.

Yeah not sure where he's getting that. Phil and Johnny got 15+. Dooley got 3, Butch got 5....

Dooley should have been fired after 2 years though

Basically it seems like that some fans have got in their head that regardless of the situation a HC walks into, said coach only has 2 years to,prove his worth. If a coach doesnt show it in 2 years, then he isnt going to. Which is beyond dumb. Why? Because no 2 coaching situations are the same.

Please list the number of coaches we have fired who got two years or less? Out of Dooley and Jones who did we fire too early? I have not read one article claiming we fired either of those duo ***** too early.

Unfortunately, it is also stupid to believe that a coach that doesn't have success in his first 3 years can maintain a level of recruiting that will EVER enable him to succeed. It is a catch-22. Keep a failing coach... you sink. Repeatedly replace failing coaches... you sink.

Fans having high expectations are NOT a problem. Bama kept demanding results until they got them. UGA on the other hand kept their "nice" bride's maid long after it was pretty clear he couldn't get over the hump. I never thought much of Coach O but the supposed "mistake" of firing Miles... seems to be working out pretty good.

What makes you think "his players" are going to come and play for a guy who loses to GSU and gets blown out by conference rivals more often than not? Sorry for being blunt... but that idea really is stupid.
