Let’s see if I understand how how this works.. firs, I would love to see Vols win. But it seems like the rule is, I’m supposed to get all fired up and convince myself that a win is all but certain. Never mind that Vegas has Auburn as better than a 2 and a half TD favorite. Never mind that Auburn’s D line is considered by many as the best in the conference and Vols OLine is far and away Vols biggest weak spot. Nevermind that Vols have struggled on O all year and has not shown any ability to score with any regularity. If I follow others who post here frequently I should complain and moan because, 1 Oline didn’t block, 2, Tenn didn’t throw much ,(never mind QB has 2 seconds at best,) and 3 Vols went conservative, (even though shortening the game and keeping D off field as much as poss is about only chance). Am I still supposed to complain ?

So what is your conclusion. I have no clue which way you are swaying. Tell your friend to help me out.

Well, my friend hates facts, lives high on emotions and a belief that pump up videos and recruiting class rankings matter, when they pump sunshine our way.

Get excited to see the Vols play! (who doesnt??) But be grounded in reality and understand they are terrible and will get slapped around so much Ike Turner would "blush" and have another hobby/activity planned to take your mind off the wretched performance you will see tomorrow.

Isnt this the same argument that the sunshine pushers throw out but in reverse? The neutral bunch, like myself, are “in wait and see mode”. We also have been through the last 20 or more years and are always hoping, because, we are all fans. I won’t tell you that they will go win out this year, but I also won’t tell you that they lose every game. Sad to see any fan to be this negative (even when they think they are being realistic, might be. Who knows).

Nah. I've been in "wait and see' mode since 2008. CBJ almost got me with that 2016 team!

It did for, I think for most of us by the middle of “16” season, I truly believe he started losing the team before that. Myself, I think he got the team believing towards the end of “15”, but we all saw that it was unraveling in the Tam game. I was a little nervous before that. Don’t like to rehash that history, need mouthwash for that. I think we know where you are on fandom meter (doesn’t make you any less of a fan), some us are still hanging by a thumb nail, gladly.

I am also in the wait and see. I think Pruitt and his staff deserve as much as we gave Butch. As I say that though, there were moments with Butch that I actually thought we had turned for the home stretch. I believe we will see if Coach Pruitt and staff are what we need next season. I know we will lose a few players that start, but I do think we will see a different mind set with the new players. Can't help that I have a little sunshine left to pump, it is way better to me than being miserable about the state we are in as a program. All I have left is hope.

So basically you're saying, "be positive"?

Are we trying reverse psychology here? Try to woe is me our selves into victory. Yeah that doesn't work either. SEC is a line of scrimmage league and their Dline is a mismatch for our charmin soft Oline. Not a good setup for a road game with the fans calling for the guy's head. They're going to be ready to play i'd bet. Now their offense is struggling, so get it into the 4th quarter with less than a 2 score game and who knows. Maybe the pressure gets to them and they choke. Best case scenario.
