Let’s just call it what it is Kiffin stalked Sam Leavitt to Knoxville .

I don't understand how Kiffin gets Leavitt, after the way Kiffin treated him when he thought Williams was available. Not to mention Kiffin gets another highly rated QB yesterday. Doesn't anybody care about lack of morals anymore? How many times does Kiffin have to show his true colors? I would not want my son under his influence. Money is not everything! I would rather my son play for Heupel for 5 millions/year than play for a snake for 6.5 millions/year. Rich is rich! I would think Leavitt could "Squeak by" on 5 million/year. 🤪 🤣🤣🤣
Evidently money talks

Most of these players in the portal are not signing NFL contracts, they are getting the money while they can. I don’t blame them, if I was in their situation, I’m getting as much as the bag as I can. We are talking millions of dollars to offer 20-21 year olds, they will never get that opportunity in the job market to make that kind of money realistically. Most of Volnation would take the money and run too.
I wouldn’t take the money and run. I’d take the money and STRUT !! 🤣

Leavitt got friend zoned by Kiffin originally, then came crawling back when Kiffin couldn't get the QB he really wanted.

Kiffin won this time. there are no rules against that in recruiting.
Well there damn sure should be. Kiffin coming to Knoxville again just goes against everything I am for. Like keeping East Tennessee beautiful. Causes air pollution.

Pretty damned easy. You call them up and say what’s it gonna take to land you? They say we’re down to Tennessee and miami; we’re done dealing with lsu. Then you say I can meet you wherever and make an offer. At the end of the day, it’s a one year business offer. Heupel has a good history of getting players to league but so does Kiffin. LSU offered more money. Miami was probably going to land him anyways if lsu didn’t and hell I don’t blame Tennessee for backing out of that. Crazy money for a one year rental with that injury.

If Heupel had done what Kiffin did, our fans would be rejoicing and complimenting Heupel for being a tireless and relentless recruiter. Stalking? That's just silly.
Idk. There would be a lot complaining about the money sunk into this one. It definitely could work out for lsu, also could blow up in their faces

leavitt has Lis franc surgery less than 2 months ago , that’s a 1 year 100% recovery minimum even for 21 year old. Not a chance he is 100% by September. We dodged a bullet.

Couple that with the folks on VN who say "we don't need a great QB, we need a game manager QB. He doesn't have to be a superstar."

Leavitt is probably a good game manager even at 70% in Sept. And, as he heals, he's more than just a game manager.

Also, there are various degrees of lisfranc injuries and none of us know the extent of Leavitt's damage nor his surgery success. That Miami, LSU, and UT pursued him strongly seem to indicate his injury was not career ending OR doctors in Miami, Baton Rouge, and likely Nashville, not Knoxville, are giving stupid advice separately to 3 different programs.

Just saying "it's a lisfranc so it's awful" is like saying "his neck is screwed up badly, his career is over." Peyton says hi.

It was serious enough that it required surgery , that’s pins and screws in his right ( plant) foot … that also means no real throwing for several months , no spring practice w a new team w a new system. Dodged a bullet

I said this before and I will say it again. I'm glad that we DIDN'T get Sam Leavitt. Almost 7 million dollars is just too much for a QB, especially one coming off an injury. The money we could have used on Leavitt we can use on defense and other pressing needs on our roster. If Kiffin wants him that bad and the LSU boosters are willing to spend all that money on a QB coming off an energy, I say more power to them.

Let's call it what it was. An act of desperation. He has no QB. He would have followed him to Nick Saban's house if that's what it took. We would have been stupid to get into a bidding war. He's injured. We have a 4* and 5* in the books. If we can't start either of them, send them packing. But we know they could start. Would it be preferable to have a more veteran QB? Yes. That's why we are gambling on JA. So we bring in one more cheap guy for depth only.

I don't care. He wasn't our guy. Why get into a bidding war over an injured QB? We have a red shirt freshman 4* QB and a 5* true freshman coming in. We need a #3, not a #1. CJH should be thinking long term. We don't need a new QB every year. We need some consistency.
Exactly. 👍
