Going home to Kentucky tomorrow, usually take this I40 route. I'll still go to waynesville into Virginia for now though. Rather keep moving, than getting in stick traffic. Glad they are opening a couple of lanes though

Don’t know where you are headed in Ky, but this past weekend, headed to Knox Co., the Wife and I had good traffic flow up 26 from Asheville to JC then to 81 S to I-40.

Going to Bell county, right beside Knox. I forget tge road I took last time from JC into Virginia, but it was a bad ride at all, came out at Cumberland gap. You from Knox County?

Take a moment to think about Asheville in the midst of tragedy and emergency trying to author a plan based upon the criteria they could anticipate in Fall 2024. Trump had not taken the oath of office, nor had he issued his executive order on DEI. These overwrought and overworked Ashevillians submitted the plan that they had in hand, received a response, and are working to comply with the current administration’s directive. I’m sympathetic with the victims in western North Carolina and think that you should reconsider your acid tongued remark.

I consider it was ridiculous when they initially created the bs. Asheville has been turning to a s***hole for many years well before the fall of 2024 so the dei stupidity was no surprise.

Likely, the stalwart survivors rebuilding Asheville wouldn’t manifest the surliness of character to characterize your dwelling or community. They’re busy with real issues. Reveling in your own narrow view and condemnation of those who do not march in lock step reveals the smallness of your being. I pity you and can only hope you have an epiphany.

A narrow view would be prioritizing recovery based on race, sexual orientation, or any other ridiculous construct other than need. Of course this pertains to everything and not just disaster recovery. An even narrower view would be supporting such nonsense but that could be labeled a few other things.

You cannot admit that DEI was the order of the day prior to Trump’s directive and so was incorporated into Asheville’s document. You fault them for not setting aside all of their other pressing concerns to edit out DEI as soon as Trump issued his directive. You cannot see them charitably. Fellow Americans in need deserve the better angels of our nature, the benefits of any doubts, and our aid.

I am just wishing we could back to when people did not put all of their business out there and we didn’t know people’s politics or sexual orientation or whatever.. that works a lot better 😂 have some mystery and everyone is much nicer
