Some things to remember from this for next year (just like we should have learned some things from our coaching search):

Just bc a recruits parents supposedly like it here, a recruit isn't coming

Our facilities really mean nothing in terms of recruiting top tier guys (winning does)

We must take the orange blinders off and not be shocked when a recruit chooses ole miss auburn vandy over us. It seems like we are still viewed in the top tier in our minds but that's just simply not the case.

The majority of info we hear on these boards re: recruits is completely false

I agree
1: Don't trust anyone
2: Don't get your hopes up too much
3: Dooley sucks

Also we need to give credit to Hubbs. He may sound negative T times, but he knows what he's talking about.

Lesson 1. If an "insider" says anything, the opposite will happen. If you keep this in mind in EVERY VN post, u will be OK.

We are broke financially, and in our image/branding at least as it relates to any and all of the major players in this game. It's going to take some actual results and winning to correct either.

Kids don't care about tradition. Iv been saying this for years. Teams that are winning get the fruit.

That's good then hopefully no one is noticing our tradition of losing and replacing coaches.

A tradition that shows every sign of continuing. Guess this is what they mean by bottomless pit.

What we learned. Dooley should have never been hired. Dooley should have been fired after UK loss.

Right now you got 20 guys who want to be here and be part of the rebuild.
Everyone knows that Auburn is NOT a rebuild. They have recruited extremely well for the past five years. Whereas UT has been a joke.
We all want to believe that CBJ is the right hire. But for kids like Bell, they have an opportunity to play for teams that are contending for titles now.
CBJ's real job will be to make the most of what he was left with, and then build that towards next years class.
What did CBJs learn today. It takes more than being busy and getting them on campus. I do believe he will work the relationships and lay the ground work that Dooley destroyed. Although the program is better regarding culture, facilities and roster than when Dooley took over, the image of the program is far worse.
On one hand I wish CBJ's could have done more in this short time. On the other, we need to celebrate the young men who have pledged to help UT rebuild.

I assume Ole Miss is the exception to winning and being successful.

That's one team, and they were still at least a 7 win team that made a bowl game last year

you're right though, the fact that we've had a max of 5 wins the last 2 seasons, haven't made a bowl game in two years (during an era where people complain that "any bad team" gets one), (got blown out of the water by vanderbilt among others) and are on yet another coaching change has had no effect

Like the program's recent track record the last 5 seasons of 28-34, 4 losing seasons, and a grand total of two bowl games (plus three coaching overhauls (/four coaching changes) in such a short period) certainly hasn't either
