Ive heard the same comments about Urbam Meyer's Offense at Florida. Yes, it will work. the question is, are we going to be smart enough to find out?

Exactly. A good system is a good system. With equal or better talent than the competition it will work nicely.

Last time I checked we don't have a Grahm Harrel on our sideline. I wonder what he would do with our putrid qb situation.

i love mike leach's style, laid back, kinda crazy, scores points with what he's given, and i personally like it that he is a little quirky and crazy and lives up to his mad scientist moniker.

Did you watch the OSU and Texas game's? The beauty of his system is you don't have to get to the 4th read, or even the 2nd or 3rd when rushed. In Leach's system, if the QB is blitzed he only needs 1-2 seconds to do what he needs with the hot routes, and those are good for 4-5 yards everytime. If the defense drops back in coverage then he will light you up for 15-20 yards everytime when he has the time. And I don't care how good the defensive lines are, when you are passing almost every play and you line up with 3-4-5 foot splits...those 300 lbs beasts we have in the SEC are going to be sucking wind by the third quarter.

There really is a certain Spurrier-type genius behind his system. Gimmicky or not, with a stout defense and better talent on offense he could be really, really good.
I watched the game. Poor defenses all the way around and Harrell's big plays game generally from having forever. The hot reads against good defenses become much harder throws to make.

Remember that Klingler, Detmer, Ware, etc. etc. etc. ad infinitum were awesome in some dazzling offenses until somebody showed up that could play D.

What is your reasoning with this statement? They don't play anyone. They lost to a crappy OregonSU. A freshman RB cut 'em to pieces.Texas and Oklahoma are both better teams.

I'll second that. Beating Ohio State is no big deal. They aren't even that good. I think TTU, UF, Texas, & Oklahoma are all better than USC.

If UT had TTU's offense and kept our defense we would be undefeated right now.

Don't know if the guy is all there in the head...

YouTube - The Madman of West Texas (Better of the 2)
YouTube - A Few Minutes with Mike Leach (ESPN The Magazine)

Funny videos though. He definitely fits the "mad scientist" mold. If you want him at Tennessee, you need to send him a UT Pirate costume! Sorry if these videos are already posted somewhere.
If Philip had the intestinal fortitude to tell it like Leach does, he probably wouldn't have lost his job. Just look at Leachs post game comments after losing to Okie State.
