If he were to be named the coach at UT, and Tech makes it to the championship game, would they hold the announcement til after the game? (and I'm assuming Tech would play Florida).

I think they would announce it before the game...& I only pray your prediction is correct!!!

Leach probably has the least chance of coaching in the Champy game of everyone being mentioned. He's likely to lose to OU or in the Big 12 title game, since neither will be on his field.

That happens, he has no chance of jumping over any of the one loss teams, save TX, who is the weakest of the one loss guys in the conversation.

Best two teams appear to be UF and USC. UF beats Alabama, they're a shoo in. USC needs some help and I don't know how they leap TX, who they could beat by 20.

I don't see a guy announcing he is leaving when the program he has built-up is about to play for the National Championship! In fact, if they win it all this year, I dont see him leaving. All the Leacher's need to pray for an Oklahoma win over Texas Tech.

I wish the BCS agreed with you. I can see TX pulling a Nebraska '01, i.e., getting into the title game without winning their conference.

You might be right, but it's going to be hard to overlook USC at the end of the deal.

AL or UF is going to be in if they take care of business. The other participant is tough to figure right now, but USC is the best team IMO.

I agree, after watching USC dismantle ohio st its hard to imagine them not playing for it all, assuming they win out. I think USC's problem is that they kind of lose focus/interest unless its a big game, but dang, they bring it in the big games.

Problem is, they are still on the outside looking in and their schedule won't do them any favors.

Losing @ OU this week (thus exiting the NC discussion) would likely increase the possibliity of an announcement prior to season's end.... I just don't see anything public as long as TT is in the title hunt.

Top to bottom I believe USC is the best team as well

What is your reasoning with this statement? They don't play anyone. They lost to a crappy OregonSU. A freshman RB cut 'em to pieces.Texas and Oklahoma are both better teams.

Similarly, UF lost to a crappy Ole Miss team and has a very good chance to win our conference.

The dominating nature of the rest of their games, including OSU, is why I think they're the best team in the country. Their D is head and shoulders above the rest of college football and their O is capable of playing with anyone on a given day.

TX and OU can lose on any given day because both have atrocious defenses.

I think TT would put up points against ANY SEC defense. I mean, c'mon, these arent the SEC defenses of yester year. If you honestly believe any of the SEC defenses of this year are THAT much better than the Texas D.....I dunno what to say, except that you must be drinking the SEC kool-aid a little too much.

what if this guy somehow won the NC and then still left tech for tennessee?? I don't see things playing out like that, but how amazing would that be?!

I definitely think Alabama has a defense better than a defensive all-star team from the Big 12.

I'm not arguing that the SEC D's could stop the Big 12 guys. I'm arguing that the Big 12 defenses are an embarrassment.

I guarantee you that any of those teams would trade for UT's defense, straight up, right now. Additionally, Graham Harrell would not get to his 4th read on every single play against most of the SEC defenses.

10 Mississippi is not a requirement in the SEC.

We are talking about 3 one loss teams. What great offense has USC played against? What offense beat Texas? What offense beat Oklahoma? The Big 12 teams are offensive juggernauts. I think Missouri would defeat USC.

I don't know that they've been playing any great offenses, but shutouts are shutouts.

In the same vein, which of the offenses of the Big 12 has played against a top defense or a defense with even an inkling of a defensive line? They don't have a single defense out there as good as ours, and I don't think ours is very good.

I'll agree about the defense, but I think that TX, TT, OK, MO offenses could put the points on the board against USC defense. Either way this will probaly come true:UA vs TT UT vs UF OU vs USC
TT vs UF UT vs USC OU vs UA

just my .02 either way the SEC championship turns out.

Additionally, Graham Harrell would not get to his 4th read on every single play against most of the SEC defenses.

Did you watch the OSU and Texas game's? The beauty of his system is you don't have to get to the 4th read, or even the 2nd or 3rd when rushed. In Leach's system, if the QB is blitzed he only needs 1-2 seconds to do what he needs with the hot routes, and those are good for 4-5 yards everytime. If the defense drops back in coverage then he will light you up for 15-20 yards everytime when he has the time. And I don't care how good the defensive lines are, when you are passing almost every play and you line up with 3-4-5 foot splits...those 300 lbs beasts we have in the SEC are going to be sucking wind by the third quarter.

There really is a certain Spurrier-type genius behind his system. Gimmicky or not, with a stout defense and better talent on offense he could be really, really good.

Ive heard the same comments about Urbam Meyer's Offense at Florida. Yes, it will work. the question is, are we going to be smart enough to find out?
