Man, that Gator hanging there is frickin HUGE. Living here in Florida I've seen some giant ones, but that one would cause heart attacks in most people, trust me!
This time of year they aren't oo menacing. They tend to stay in the water as they are cold-blooded and its plenty hot out right now. The time you have to be careful is in the Spring. They tend to sun themsevles (always see a few out on the golf courses) to get the body temp up. Also, the mothers hang out around their nests to protect their young 'uns.
You see a boggy or muddy area with a couple of 3 foot mound-looking things, kind of like a badger's nest? You don't go anywhere near it.
