ACC officials called two of TN’s 13 games in 2021. 28 of Vols season total of 89 penalties (31.46%) came from these two contests. What a joke.

Sad thing is this doesn’t include the OM game which was a total officiating debacle itself.

I'm personally gonna pack my Mustard bottle the next game we have an ACC crew. The bad calls speak for themselves, but total inability to manage a game is worse. You make a call....Defensive player flops...... after he get off the field you review the former play... you make a call. That's 5 minutes of life wasted no one is getting back. The whole forward progress is crazy, you get the guy on the ground after 30 seconds of Rugby they throw a flag for a PF (Pitt game) though NO whistle. You let up they keep going and score. PI, let them play within reason or throw the flag both ways. Camera angles allow you to make correct spot calls, use them. Better idea, do away with conference officials and have national crews so calls are not interpreted by conference. A hold or PI is called the same wherever the game is played.

All NCAA officiating needs to be consolidated and under one neutral organization that hires and trains them for all Power5. All reviews should be centralized like the NFL for better consistency across all conferences. This would eliminate the favoritism of refs doing games against other conferences. Thoughts?

Concur 100%, but conferences would rather hide behind “part timers” instead of correcting the problem.

It shouldn't be surprising. The SEC is to the ACC as Ferris Bueller is to his jealous sister. Any attempt to diminish an SEC team has the potential to bring some glory to the ACC.

Conference jealousy? I doubt it. Corrupt officials bought off by sports gamblers is more likely. We were trashed like AU and MSU in the bowl games this year.

How many penatlies did Pitt habe againsr us?

Ive googled but cant get any result showing the number. Every article is about our 13 penalties. I did find one stat line that sjowed they had 64 yearss for the game...but nothing with the actual number of times a flag was thrown on them

We had 13 for 134, they 9 for 76. So we had 4 more for almost 2x the yardage.

The one thing that always stood out to me about the Pitt game was in spite of Pickett being consistently pressured and chased out of the pocket including 3 sacks, Pitt never committed a single offensive hold. I believe UT was hit for 3 or 4 holds
