Later Schedules

I would much rather Tennessee play a Miami, UCLA, etc. than a D2 school.

Not only do I agree with the second post in the thread but it is much more entertaining to see the Vols go to South Bend than play a "cupcake" at home.

Yup. Scheduling the harder teams to make you better is part of the USC philosophy that is being implanted here (although we already scheduled that way). They practice full out - just like games. You get a few more injuries, but the games slow down for your players significantly that way, and when you build the depth and competition they have, the injuries aren't a big deal (unless they are seriously threatening to the players' health obviously...I am not just saying their health concerns are worthless...but you always have a guy to step up and take that guys spot while he heals up).

The last I-AA team we played was the Citadel in 1983 (and it looks like we played them in Memphis, weirdly enough). I remember that game, sort of, in that I remember asking my dad what the hell kind of school a "Citadel" was.

The Citadel was a last minute replacement game that year...I forget who they replaced however :dunno:

Didn't we just add ut-martin to an upcoming schedule because some team dropped us?

I heard that they are replacing NCState because they backed out. I wish I had an official link, but it's just what I heard.
