And stop with the ridiculous injury excuse. This is year 4 and we should at least have capable backups by now.

Butch changed S&C coach, went away from getting stronger and more toward explosiveness. Which has worked quite well because every offense we have played has had explosive plays against us.

Yes injuries, not an excuse when literally half of your defensive 2 deep is out. It's really that simple.

How can you say injuries are merely an "excuse?"

Half the team's starters are out with injuries. That's not an excuse, that's an issue. Backups are backups for a reason. One reason or another, they're not ready to play against the #1 team in the nation.

They should have put up more of a fight but it is absolutely stupid to skim over the injuries.

Its not hard to understand that even at year 4, your 3rd string LBs and OL will not do well against the #1 team in the nation. If we had 2nd string backups in I doubt it would have been this bad. With 1st team across the board playing this game would have been competitive.

Even before the injuries we were getting pushed around. Shoop has been given a pass because of the injury bug but fact is we were getting gashed long before the injuries happened.

Last year our DL more than held their own and this year they got dominated but that shouldn't be a surprise. They have been pushed around all year.

Hey genuis. When you're missing 13 starters and backups it's the injuries.

We had Marcus Tatum playing RT from the first quarter on. The kid is 265 lbs and was supposed to redshirt.

That's how bad it got.

**** it, I give up! Anyone who says "injuries aren't an excuse" is beyond all reason and common sense. No point in wasting time trying to convince someone like that otherwise.

I'm done for a while boys. See you during SC week.

Last years game was bama's eighth in a row. We were coming off a bye week rested and relatively healthy.

Injuries, Einstein. Clearly, you've never played or coached in any competitive sports that matter.

The amount of idiocy on Volnation is the reason so many folks that used to spend a lot of time on this board rarely visit anymore.

When you are playing 3rd string players as starters, against a #1 team, yes injury comes into play.
Welcome to the real world sunshine pumpers.

I'm not going to deny we have some issues in certain areas, but the glaring issue yesterday was the injuries. Of course the backups to the backups are going to get shoved around. Against any team that would be apparent. Against Bama, it's catastrophic which is what we witnessed yesterday.

It is disappointing. I get it. But starting a dumpster fire isn't going to help.

Injuries happen but how many Tennessee gets has me baffled. Tennessee does not do a good job of preventing injuries and players taking care of themselves. This has somewhat to do with strength and conditioning. What a joke of a hire Butch made last season.

THANK YOU! THAT IS IT!
Who would dream of boxing Mike Tyson with one hand tied behind their back. ? Injuries do matter.

We did have capable backups. They got hurt too.

The injuries have been happening since game 1. We lost our best player, Reeves-Maybin, early in the App State game and it's only snowballed from there.
