Did anyone notice that none of the players had names on the back of their jersey yesterday? Is this by design to build team unity or just because it was a spring game? <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

I don't ever recall the names (from all of the players)missing in past Orange/White games.

I know USC doesn't have names on the players jersey either Is this another attempt by Kiffin to make UT like USC or am I just reading too much into this observation?

USC style. I kind of like the idea of no names on the Jersey. It's all about the team. Kind of sucks that I'll need to buy a freaking program everytime I go to the game!

It could have just been because they were using practice jerseys and didnt want to get them printed up or something I dont really know. I think that not puting names on the back of the jerseys for unity is about one of the stupidest things coaches do. If you arent going to put names on the back of the jerseys beacuse you think it looks better thants fine but only a very stupid/weak coach who is trying to prove to the public that his teams are disciplined and play as a team because he cant do it on the field could think that taking the names off a jersey would some how have any effect on the players and make them a team.

they've never had the last names on the jerseys for the O&W game. I do like those jerseys better than last years. I hated the number design from last year. the 06 and 07 jerseys were a lot better IMO

i think it also has to do with alot of players' numbers arent set in stone yet. with exceptions to berry and all the big names

I've been to 5 or 6 O&W games & they have never had the names on the back of the jerseys through spring.

Seriously names on the back of a jersey have nothing to do with team unity. Florida,LSU,Vols,FSU,OSU,Texas, and Okla. had their names on the back of their jerseys while winning BCS championships. USC is the only school without names to win the championship.

there has been no official word but I'm going to be very surprised if thus HC doesn't remove names from jerseys. IMO, he doesn't care for that...

if you look close, they had their torch patches, which i didn't think are a part of the practice jerseys...?

The torch patches were on some of the jerseys because they had previously been used by other players. You'll also notice there were 75th anniversary patches on some (from 2007) and regular SEC patches on others (from 2006), and no patches on most.

It's 2009 put some names on the jerseys. That shouldn't be a big deal.

I agree, it shouldn't be a big deal if they have the names on there... or if they don't have the names on there.

Seriously, who cares?

I personally think they look faster without the names.

I don't know about that. If there were names on the back the guys from the other team might be trying to read them and our guys could run right by them... :p
