"Going into some areas that we necessarily haven't in the past and making some in-roads by doing some things to make people understand what the Tennessee brand is all about," Scott said. "Getting those kids here and the success they have will continue to open doors in areas that are talent rich. We are going to be very aggressive. We aren't going to back down from anybody. We are going to flat go get after it in some peoples back yards and that's just the way we are going to do business now."

With plenty of experience in recruiting talent rich Florida, Scott and the Vols have had more success in the sunshine state since he arrived. The 2017 class had seven players from Florida. As the offensive boss, Scott will not only recruit his areas, but be in on more prospects on his side of the ball. He will have the chance to leave his fingerprints all over each recruiting class.

"I love to recruit," Scott said. "It's more exciting to touch more areas, get in more homes and be around more kids, families and high school coaches. Just continue to build relationships that makes recruiting go. I'm fired up about it."

I am liking Coach Scott more and more. I hope he turns out to be a great OC.

Like that attitude. Start by stomping on that ugly tint of orange program about 2 hours or so SE of K-Town. Need to make the Volunteer state a no visit zone for the walk on Bammer guy.

He talks a good game, but as Vol fans know, actions speak louder than words.

Talk the talk then walk the walk. I have no doubts Scott can do the recruiting gig. Need all the coaches on this staff with his selling skills. If we actually start winning on a big time level, recruiting should be a lot easier anyway.

I would love to be able to get a little info about UT without a bunch of pricks whining in every thread.

Obviously we won't know until he starts calling plays, but I do like how he has been taking the promotion. He is not backing down and fully accepts the responsibilities of being OC at Tennessee. I know he feels like he was the right man for the job and he is ready to prove himself. He talks with confidence and I believe our offense will take a step forward with his aggressive play calling. I like how he seems to be a players' coach and I believe that will transpire into guys wanting to play for him and giving their all on the field. He's trying to make a name for himself.

Well look at it this way, Scott is obviously trying to become a head coach eventually. He's had a pretty solid resume so far and if he becomes a successful OC then schools will come looking for him at HC. I wasn't really for this hire but I think he's looking to make a big impact so we could potentially see better play calling. Depends on how much CBJ dips his paws into.

Florida is fertile ground to be sure, but I'd like to know what has soured some of our relationships in TN.....specifically the mid-state area? Whatever it is....whatever has happened....whatever it takes, Butch needs to rectify the situation. Make it right. Top TN kids need to wear orange.
