Lane the lightning rod

I'll go one step further...

How UT fans see Kiffin: A young, exciting, energetic, afraid of no one coach who has called out the giants in the SEC and served notice that UT is back.

How everyone else sees Kiffin: A young, inexperienced, foolish coach with egg on his face who has not proved one thing on the field and who couldn't stand on his own without daddy having his back.

Time will tell....Go Vols!!!

Everyone's opinion of Saban: Lying dirtbag who left Miami hanging in the wind to go to Alabama. He would sell his mom's soul for a recruit. He will push all the limits of recruiting.

Bama opinion: invented football.

Now you do Bobby Petrino...and Urban Meyer.

Fact is if I cared about what they thought I'd be on a Bama board. Their perception is completely irrelevant to our football program. Too bad you just can't see it.

Would you to kiss and make up for crying out loud. I have my own domestic problems when I'm at home, all I need is to log onto volnation and find two Big Orange fans going back and forth at each other.

Can't we all just get along? or at the very least ignore each other?
Option 3: Take it to PMs.

Actually, I do see it and I couldn't agree with your comments on Bama & Saban more. I just worry that CLK's mouth is writing checks that his coaching won't be able to cash.

Maybe that will cause him to give that extra 1% of efffort (as in 101%)

Lex speaks true. Spurrier has been the resident SEC ass for time out of mind. I think his comment about CLK passing the NCAA test was equitable to CLK's comment about the phone call.

CLK is just marking his turf.

I can't say anything guaranteed to alleviate your worries, but I'll tell you I don't think they are founded.

Every single person around Kiffin is a top notch football coach. This team will improve greatly. Quickly.

This would make a great Seinfeld show if you think about it. A big episode about nothing, but very, very entertaining nonetheless.

Spot on!

I confess to spending way more time perusing the Vol board than I usually do. High entertainment value. From an outsider's perspective, CLK does not inspire fear; but amusement. When he kicks Bama's butt a few times, Bama fans (and dare I say, some Vol fans...) will give him respect and he will have earned it. Until then, his antics make for comic relief.

If it works for Bruce Pearl... (and it has so far) I see no reason why Lane Kiffin should not do it, but he has to back his words up on the field. Most TN fans just want to be competitive against Florida again.

Count me out as one of those fans...I want to beat the ever living crap out of Florida on a regular basis. I know it won't be next year, nor probably the year after, but after that I want FL to be fearing this game.

I guess the outcome of the UT/UF game over the next couple of seasons will reveal whether there was genius or immature, inexperienced, embarrassing lunacy in what CLK said and did.

No offense, but woman just don't understand smack talk. For good or bad, talking smack is a man thing. Our players get it and the prospective recruits get it as well.

I dunno... I suspect the HS players' Moms, Dads, Grandmoms, and coaches see through the smack and are looking for something deeper for their young men. But either way, we'll find out next NSD. CLK clearly has the recruiters. All they gotta' do is sell the product.

while i agree, partially, its not like carrol, saban, meyer, richt, etc. etc are (or care for that matter) exactly molding "great men of character". all they care about is winning ball games. they (like our staff, i'm sure) are just great at including "memaw and pawpaw" in the recruiting process and telling them what they want to hear.
