Does anybody else feel like Lane not speaking with the reporter at halftime was calculated? Think about it.

Lane's refusal to be interviewed at halftime guaranteed that he would be interviewed at the end of the game. Lane understands how to use the media to his advantage and realizes that having a final word at the end of the game is a big deal.

The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced that it was planned for Kiffin to be interviewed at the end of the game WHILE Rocky Top is playing despite the loss.

It gave him the opportunity to show that he wasn't satisfied with a close game or a "heck of an effort." He even had the great lines about not hearing the reporter because Rocky Top was playing and the fact that we would see the Gators next year.

If this was done on purpose like I'm thinking, then Kiffin is more brilliant than I initially thought. HS kids have to be loving his style right about now.

IMO, After all the sound bites CLK has given the media since his hiring they want to talk to him at every opportunity.

Did they even talk to Meyer during the game - after or before halftime. If they did, I must have missed it.

I hope the HS kids picked up on it AND his post game comments!! For somebody who takes SO many cracks on his intellect he shows me more and more that EVERYTHING he does is calculated

I just love how despite everything they wanted to first interview a guy coaching a 5-7 team a year ago while there is a reigning national championship coach and Heisman winner across the field. Kiffin is brilliant.

don't forget what he said at the sec media days, everything was calculated to putting UT's name on tv and in the newspapers

I've had mixed feelings about that. It's obvious that certain things were calculated but I think he also made some comments that weren't planned and wished he could have back.

I think in hindsight that he might have changed the wording from "I'm going to turn Urban in for cheating" to "I'm going to turn Urban in for being a douchebag and hounding a recruit on his official visit to UT."

I do believe him when he says that his goal was to take pressure off the team and put it on himself because that is exactly what he accomplished.

A coach that is willing to put all the pressure on himself and put players in positions to receive praise is usually very well-liked by their players.

I know! I can't remember that last time the media was so obsessed with a coach.

He gets a lot of face time and that only increases his opportunities to sell the program and his coaching.

I think we are going to see a dramatic shift in the way that CLK is referred to by the media after this weekend. You're already starting to see it in the headlines from the game.

Once the media starts focusing on Kiffin's positives then the Lane Train will be an unstoppable force!

Nope. How funny is it they speak to a coach that's 1-2 multiple times and the defending champ and #1 team in the nation's coach doesn't get questioned?

Lane's got UT on the right track..
