He's been to the NFL. He's been to Southern Cal. He's been to Tennessee. Now he knows where his coaching heaven really is. Look for this guy to be Nick Saban's arch nemesis for years to come and win a national championship in the process. Rocky Top would rock in 2018 and according to the poll 87% of Volnation would say "Hell, yeah!".

I have lurked for quite some time and this is my first post.....goodness, are we that desperate? The call for Kiffin to come back is outrageous. HE LEFT. He left us high and dry for his “dream job”(as most would I. Any position of work). We, as fans, literally set fire to mattresses/couches. This is stupid. You’re grabbing for a coach that literally disgraced us...I hate to disagree, but I disagree. We are not a stepping stone for Lame Kitten. Get out of here with this nonsense.

He is asking for a chance to make things right. 2017 Kiffin isn't 2009 Kiffin. If he wants to be here as much as he says he does then the risk is worth the reward. Love him or hate him you have to admit the 2009 season was funner than hell.

Agreed, but... It took me a long time to change my point of view on him too. BUT If he's man enough to admit he was wrong and willing to take the job to prove he's sorry AND good enough, I'll applaud him. It's not like it's an easy job to take right now either!

It's kinda ballsy on his part too: a fan base that at least half hates you or at least has a sour taste in their mouth, yet you want to make it right even considering they are a $*** show of a team right now? Kinda impressive actually. Just think if he turns it around!! I think he can.

It may be the insomnia combined with the Schiano disaster but Kiffin is now at the top of my list. I think he would bring a passion back with him not seen since mid nineties Fulmer.

This feels to damn right to be wrong.

Clearly you forgot the beer too!! Insomnia, Schiano disaster, beer is more like it.

Seriously though, I agree. I think kiffin's past actually will make him bring an even more potent passion. He's got a lot to prove and he knows it.

As I would like to agree, I don’t. Respectfully. Kiffin is going to Kiffin. He trolls us constantly. He may regret leaving now, but he really hasn’t changed. Tbh he said he doesn’t want to be here considering what happened in the last 24hrs. If so, he’d be a leading candidate over Tee. I just think he needs more time to mature into a HC role before he comes back to the SEC or the PAC-12(considering his situation there).

Haha I do agree it was a fun season. I was excited about the next season, especially with Monte. Terrance Cody killed my dreams.....grrrr. I went to UT to during that whole shift and it was just a terrible transformation. That is why i am saying it now

It is very ballsy, I won’t lie. I would like to think he wants to make it right, but...let’s be real. If he wanted that role he would have been back here by now and not trolling us. I’m not against redemption but he would need to take it the house, in my opinion, for him to be a candidate for redemption.

So you want CBJ to be able to say "that's what you get"?
Who else could TN get that's better?
This is a business not fairy tales hurt feelings isn't a reason to hire another Dooley or worse!

Maybe the reason he trolls us on Twitter is to divert our attention towards him because he *wants* the job? If he wants it it's not like he can just claim it and start recruiting/coaching. The AD has to offer/accept it. Maybe John Currie isn't offering it (obviously Currie makes idiotic decisions so this isnt far fetched).

It's like quitting your job but realizing that was a mistake and even though you've won over most of your coworkers (fans in this instance) the "boss" (Currie, Haslams, boosters) still need to ok it before you can come back and prove yourself. Do you deserve a second chance? Do fans mostly want that too? Yes and yes!! Will the powers that be hire you or some no name high school up and coming coach? Who knows!?

I asked this question on another thread and didn't receive an answer so I will ask again here.

How realistic are the chances of John Currie and the Haslams rehiring Lane Kiffin?

Would they reach out to him? In light of recent events, I sincerely doubt it myself. Kiffin, then, would have to petition them and likely be ignored. That is my opinion, but I don't have any idea what is going on inside the heads of these people. My opinion of Kiffin's return notwithstanding, the idea is intriguing.

Not sure if that answer but after Sunday’s events I would think Kiffin is looking much better and I’m the radar more than before. Anything is possible especially now that the fans seem to be in control

As one would like to think. I would also like to think he would like the job back...he has claimed it was a mistake on his part for leaving. Never did I say he would automatically publicize his claim to take the job and start recruiting/coaching but when you troll a fan base the whole time and then troll some more and then ultimately saying he doesn’t want job right now ..don’t know where that was construed. He is definitely “not waiting by the phone.” Like said, John Currie may not be offering the job to him. He definitely didn’t on Sunday, did he?

The thing is, there would be a reason I quit my job. If I were to hate it....the hours are awful....I can’t stand my coworker.....that’s reality. If I hated my job, I’d quit and find something better. I quit for a reason and I’d move on to better things. I know where you are getting at and I agree. I do believe the Haslams have soured us (politely speaking). Should Lane Kiffin get a second chance? Yes...now? No. If you wrecked your parents car, do you deserve a second chance? Yes. But after it happened? No...

Coaches are here for years. Years...making millions. I don’t want a high school coach, nor did I say that. We are better than Lane Kiffin. He had his chance. He got his second chance at Alabama.

Witch Doctor say write that down and read it off the next time we go 0-8 in the SEC over the cheering Vandy fans. Its not about love, its about best choice at this point. If not Kiffin? who is your guy?
