..and I want that excitement back. He convinced me he could go toe-to-toe with Saban and did. He took a potentially disastrous year and turned it into a winning year his only year here. I could go on and on, but the biggest reason I want him to be coach is because is a winner and he makes my dollar fun to spend. No one else now under consideration would make me go to Neyland Stadium. Selfish perhaps but the truth...BTW..Can anyone really blame him for chasing his dream job. What a story of forgiveness, reconciliation and restoration. I think that could preach here in Tennessee and save Currie his job.

Nice post OP.

I think that is his real appeal. More than that he is the only coach left that is realistic that is an exciting hire.

he was honestly one of the only ones to actually "excite" me about UT football. no offense to phil, but he just wasn't "exciting"

And you couldn't tell us this in one of the many other Lame Kiffen threads?

I agree, pretty all of the Dooley and Jones years I had a sense of dread as soon as I got up on Saturday morning. The worst part is when it was a night game and you would have wait all day for it and go to bed pissed off. Eventually I got to the point that I just watched and never got excited because I knew what the result would be. What a terrible feeling.

I could have posted in one of the many threads about Lane Kiffin but I want to WIN! So what is your point?

I was willing to give Dooley(because of Vince) and Butch a chance but enough is enough. We can get a guy of Kiffins caliber for less than what we were gonna pay Gundy. Wtf is going on with this administration and the sorry ass Haslams?

Starting to wonder if Kiffin would even come back. Everything I read says he would come but he's the master troll. Maybe Currie comes calling and he just laughs.

Bring back Kiffin!

1000% agree. Currie wont talk to Kiffin because of what happen before. But he was going to hire a guy like Schino. Really. Kiffin left for his dream job. I don't blame him for that. You want to bring excitement back to Tennessee football, (that is what it needs right now) then bring back Kiffin.

Kiffin should absolutely be interviewed at the very least, but not going to happen with Currie and Admin, they clearly will not even talk with him, so it really is off the table, but it shouldn't be.

Coach Kiffin is better than any of the coaches we have considered, he knows the SEC, he is a Winner and would jump right into our fire storm with us and not flinch. These other guys are too comfortable where they are and don't want to play Alabama every year, but Kiffin would like nothing more than to pound it out with Nick, he wants to kick his butt and he is not afraid to say it.

I hope Kiffin is serious. He turns on my TV, my radio, my TV and my wallet. Hopefully Davenport and Currie don't go PC Postal or political and kill the money and the fun that could be back at TN. If Kiffin plays us, good for him, everyone else has.

That's just sad. He was 7-6. Shame on you for buying his BS. Apparently Al Davis, Hamilton, and Saban did do, so I guess you have some company (none of which I would pump my brakes for if they wandered in front of my car, but company nonetheless).

Kiffin's primary skill is blowing smoke up arses and selling people that he's better than he is. Sorry that you fell for it.
