Lane Kiffin Radio Interview w/ Tim Brando

He sounds like a confident project manager who's on pace for meeting his goals.

And if I wasn't 100% sure his dad is coming, I am now. That answer was from someone who has processed the thought (of his dad coming to UT) to the point where his response is automatic, regardless of what words he uses to answer the question.

Code ORANGE!!!!! LOL

He said he wanted to go to 13 schools everyday....WOW thats getting the job done and then some. 150% is what this job deserves and it should pay off

Thanks for posting this. Did Kesling ever get CLK on Vol Calls last night? or did Bob mess something else up?

CLK has impressed me so much every time I hear something about him. I liked how they asked him at the end about his dad and he said he was in Tampa, and that was his first recruit. Laughing after wards, I have to believe he wasn't joking. He has never said anything about him not coming, he just always says "There playing great ball down there and you know, we'll sit down and talk about it at the end of the season." Sorry, but you know it's already been talked about! Honestly, I can't ask anymore of him right now, seems like he hasn't been home much at all, since getting the job.

Pretty much the same as the press conference. Kesling asked the question about the staff and Kiffin's reply was that it will take time. They (Kiffin and co) will do it in time. It will take time, he said that they were going to do it right and it is a process. That is the gist of it.

I love the attitude about being able to build the team you want by just out-working other programs. I know it is easy to say but you can tell he is fired up about the challenges. It is a great can-do attitude. He is going to bring the rest of Vol Nation along with him. I can't wait to tee it up. Go Vols!!

great interview. I also really liked when he compared the NCAA to the NFL. He truly believes that he can out-work the other coaches and build Tennessee into a major dynasty again.

I can't wait to see what happens.

Also, I think he pretty much just said that Monte is going to be a Vol.

Food for thought: We tend to love the things we work the hardest for. Lane Kiffin is learning to love UT like we do, and we all started somewhere at sometime (contrary to popular belief you aren't born loving the Vols, you're taught to love them.) I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about someone who didn't have ties to UT. I feel good. :dance2:

yah, that being said about learning to love the vols, unfortunatly, in the world we live in there are people that are born into fandom. We call these people bammers, they are born into a fan base due to a major problem with that state, inbreeding....

He's working so much, I'm a little concerned he won't be there to watch his 3rd child be born.

Oh well, he's seen that show twice before, it's old hat.

You know, there are still a bunch of people around that are critical about the hiring of Kiffin and his abilities. I don't get it. I realize some still feel loyal to Phil and I respect that but he is out and Kiffin is now our man. I think he is going above and beyond and doing a helluva job out there on the road humping it for recruits. So far, I am loving the hire and can't see how anyone else in Big Orange Country could not.

He can spend the rest of his life with that kid, but he'll only have until signing day to get some commits for this class...

I like CLK alot. Always have. I still think he got the job because of the staff he will bring in. That is a positive, not a negitive. It's not what you know...but who you know. This staff will be the best in the country. Can you imagine Coach O, Monte, Bill Calahan(sp), Tom Rathman, and maybe Ken Norton JR???????

Holy Crap!!!:D

easy to be born into a fan base down there when your mother/sister/1st cousin went to Bama as well as your brother/dad/3rd cousin twice removed. I wasn't born a UT fan, being form eastern Virginia, and wasn't really one most of my youth but after 5 years of school at UT (yes five, but why hurry getting out of there) I could never call another team mine like UT has been now for some time. The people of Knoxville are some of the greatest in the world and took me in as a fellow fan from the moment i stepped on campus. I know Lane will continue to honor the traditions that make UT the greatest program in the country and make every person across this country want to come and be a VOL and display what the true meaning of sportsmanship and community.
