The first thing I notice is that he says "I said some things that I...that I apologized for" as opposed to "I said some things I shouldn't have." He either knew what he was doing the whole time, or just doesn't like to admit his mistakes. But I personally think it's the first.

This entire situation is very funny. Kiffin is using ESPN for mega publicity. ESPN needs the ratings, though, with Kiff's outlandish comments. It's really a match made in heaven for UT. Instead of USC, Tim Tebow and Notre Dame, they will be kissing our ass when we start winning or they will only report bad stuff about Kiffin when we are down. Either way, it's publicity. Kiffin has them around around his finger.

Seriously. He's saying all of this stuff for us, UT fans. Not anybody else. If they don't like it, tough. If it hurts their feelings, good. The pumping gas comment was hilarious. I'm glad he said it (allegedly) bc we were all thinking it! CLK is smiling in his office every time he hears his name on ESPN
