Yes. He's got better accuracy, better arm, better vision. Only downfall....Doesn't know the playbook as well as Crompton or Stephens. That can ALL change. I look for this kid to come into camp, and own. We shall see him in WKU. If we are to have a shot at a decent season, I just don't fell good about Crompton. Maybe he can prove, me and all the rest of us wrong...just don't see it.

I don't keep up with all the off season stuff as much as most of you.I was listening to Kiffin today and him saying he had confidence in his guys and we are going to have a QB competition and see who wins it out. With the season just a short bit away, why haven't we already got the best QB to start the season?

Exactly, with him saying this it tells me that there really isnt any confidence in Crompton or Stephens. I think Lamaison comes in and will start. Just MHO

Or that he doesnt want his QBs to get complacent and Stephens was hurt during the spring and did not have a fair shot at the job. That is what his comment means. From what I've seen of Lamaison and what I've heard from the recruiting analyst that Lamaison is a project and may only be here to prevent a situation of two QBs going down and a freshman walkon (both Fromke and Rozier the two walkons are freshman) to have to come in. Keep in mind Lamaison's only other offer was North Dakota State a D2 school that just last year moved to 1-AA

Is Lamaisson a legit 6'1"...

Unless he's 5'6" I think his ability to look past the 1st receiver more than trumps the 3-4 inches he gives up to Crompton

Not a chance this year, I really think we are going to see a new Crompton. Remember the change in Ainge when Cut came back. He has weathered the storm and I think he will have a good season. Then again that could be wishful thinking. GO VOLS!!

I agree. JC has had moments where he looked alright. New confidence in our coaches, and a more desirable over all scheme could make all the difference in the world. Again, the Clawfence from last year would have made any players look bad their first year in that system. Have some faith, and lets just wait and see... GO VOLS

by the way .. side note:

by gray-shirting, he managed to get all his classes done last year... with only one class to finish, thus, making him barely reachable for contact from journalists and schools.

He seemed set in his mind that once Tenn. called he wasn't going to look anywhere else, thus explaining why not many schools were seeking him... point blank: his mind was set on Tennesse... he had told me that beforehand also...

Also ... he said that he can play 3 years... or 3 years added with a redshirt year should he decide to do that for this season... its up to him.
Red shirt this year, then have 3 years of eligibility....sweeeet...

Lamaisson is not 6’1’’ maybe 5’11’’, and he will not start this year.. He often lofts the ball up with his receiver waiting on the ball and was in a “very” quarterback friendly offense in Jr. College. He is a quarterback that was only singed in case of Crompton and Stevens both go down and preventing a walk on from being the main guy. He has good work ethic but is under sized and not SEC material. Rozier has a lot more true quarterback potential than Lamaisson. But only time will tell and we will see how all these guys do in fall camp. I can’t wait:popcorn:

Yeah some are skeptical about his height being only at 6'0", but as I mentioned before on another thread, if the O-line can provide him sound protection ... he's ok in the pocket ... but he's got like hawk-eyes ... he looks, finds.. and throws...

the thing that amazed me so much watching him last season was his on-point accuracy in his BOMBS ... he has great timing on finding the receivers...

I seriously thought he threw at least 20-30 bombs each game at Mt. SAC.

Chaney coached Drew Bledsoe. He can handle a short QB

Lamaison's personality is all-business on the field... its what i picked up on him on first impression when i saw him at Mt. SAC.
