Obviously each boarder can look at the stats for the team and individual players. However given each of us is a keen observer I have included the stats for the top seven players re shots. the callenge is to identify

the players. Obviously, some of them need to do a better job of setting their feet (smile)

The huge problem Coach does not have a do not shoot the three demand on any player. This lowers the percentage dramatically. I'm not against any player shooting a three, but seven in a game when your shooting it at 22 percent is just a lot of wasted possessions. The value of possessions demands that teams play the percentages and we do not at least to this point in the season.

I have no idea because I haven't been to any practices, but what I've been wondering is if maybe some of the players who are shooting low percentages from deep in games may be knockin' 'em down consistently in practice, and Kim lets 'em continue to shoot in games in hopes they'll shoot themselves out of the slump. I mean, if a coach is fairly confident they're going to win, I could see them trying to see if showing a player you still have confidence in them that at any minute they could start falling in games like they do in practice.

We've had a few players like that in the past: dead-eye assassins in practice, but couldn't break through in games. So far it has only hurt us bad enough to contribute to a loss once this year, but things are about to get a lot more serious. Might need to give a couple of players the caution light, at least, if shots are looking a little off, and the full red light if they're looking waaaay off.

Anyway, that's my theory. That Kim is hoping they'll shoot their way out of their gametime slumps.

It will be interesting to see if Robinson continues to be productive in three-point shooting. There is no way she will replicate last game, but she shot well the last two games after coach told her to stop shooting off the bounce. This was feedback she needed at SMU but was just left to her own devices to keep the ball in her hand no matter what. I think she still could be pivotal player if we are to reach our peak, as we can't count on any particular Freshman to be a consistently at the top of their game. If we had a core group of Cooper, Barker, Spearman if she regains her confidence, and Robinson that we could count on for double digit rebounds and/or points, that will enable us to deal with the fluctuations of the other players and still be really good.

We just need her to be consistent in her shooting making 3 a game would be fine even if it took 9 attempts. What we got was 10 of 16 and before that 0 of 8 or 1 of 7 and sure your going to have that type of game sometimes. Still we need a player that can make three or four a game without needing to shoot over 10.

That 15 of 40 is Robertson. Before that game was 5 for 24.

Kim said as much in her most recent presser. She stated those shots are falling in practice and our percentages and offense look much different in practice compared to the games right now. She said our assist % has been a lot better in practice and she does expect it to start translating to games.

One positive is our offensive rebounding has been good enough that we’re often still scoring off those threes but on the putback which doesn’t get an assist.
